So I'm 17 weeks in- WOW! I can't wait till I'm 20 weeks and can say that I've reached the halfway point, that'll be awesome!
So it's Friday and I usually update on Saturdays but here's what's up. I am distracted. I have a baby tucked away in my belly and he/she is tap-tappin' and growing and doing all kinds of amazing things...and I'm supposed to organize paperwork and get ahead on things!? Seriously, it's an issue. It's not that I'm not motivated, I mean, I HAVE to get stuff done. I like my job, I'm LOVING the course that I'm teaching right now, and my students are a hoot, but...there's a BABY in my BELLY and there's so much other stuf to do!
So, yeah. Can anyone relate?
In other news...
> Our BOB Revolution stroller arrived this week. If you a) want a high quality stroller, b) enjoy jogging, walking, camping, hiking, c)want a stroller to last well into the toddler years d) Wanna look more hip than all the other moms ;) e) Have someone to help you with the cost, then you should consider getting a BOB. It's seriously so sweet! It looks so awesome, is so easy to fold, is light enough for me to lift, and seems roomy enough to hangle even a 4 year old (which gives it's one drawback of needing a car seat adaptor and seat to use for the first 2 months). Anyways, so far our treks around the living room have proven quite nice.
> My prefolds arrived this week (to use with diaper wraps/covers) soo cool (though, kinda intimidating)
> I'm gaining weight and have a belly going on, though I'm still not wearing maternity clothes. I might try to get pic's up tomorrow (no promises)
> Less than 2 weeks till our 3D appointment!
Question?Project:
- We're starting to think 'design' and will be jumping into that once we know the sex. Now, we really want to go natural/classic; browns, greens, trees, nature, bunnies/lambs(?), etc. Any ideas? Resources? Weblinks? Dos/Donts? We want to avoid cartoons, disney, and crazy primary colors.
- I've gotta say, the response to the diaper question last week was AWESOME and soo helpful. Thanks ladies!!! I really appreciate the feedback :)
Well, with the tappin' going on inside now I just can't help but grin. I love my baby!

Motion
January already- time is flying!
So, what's new?
More diapers arrived this week. We're now home to BumGenius, and FuzziBunz diapers. We're also still waiting on some Chinese prefolds to arrive to use with my Bummis Super Whisper Wraps. (Note: more of the whisper wraps or one-size BumGenius are always good to snag for this kid ;) )
Weird experiences this week (beware, somewhat awkward)
Experienced awful pains 'down there', seriously woke me up and took my breath away. Most reading i can find says that it's probably the baby knocking on my cervix, but seriously, not cool. This was paired with wack uterine pain, which is apparently 'round ligament pain'. c'mon now people, why doesn't anyone talk about this when talking about being pregnant??? We need to educate our girls!
so yeah, awkward and painful, but hopefully normal.
In better news...
Baby is moving!!! Earlier this week I experienced a little 'tap tap' inside. I wasn't sure, but now it's pretty consistent, especially in the evenings. YAY!!! I've being waiting for this for so long!!!
And, in crazy news!
My brother/sis in-law are having twins!!! And they're due the week I am! How awesome is that!?! Love it! So many babies coming!!!
And finally, questions.
- For those using/ have used fabric diapers, what's your system? Like, did you have a bucket? Or two? Toilet sprayer? Disposable liners? Special carry bags? This is pretty new to me.
So far, we have prefolds with wraps, onesize pockets, and seperate size pockets. I also have a few packs of disposable liners, and one small bag for inside the diaper bag. I'd like to avoid toilet dipping (hence the liners) but am still wondering about the best system (diaper genie isn't gonna cut it). So, send me your experiences and tips!! :)

Poochy?
This week has been intense. I'm back in the office all day and am also working this weekend for the New Student Orientation. I'm struggling with the continued exhaustion, wooziness, and ridiculous emotional instability (yikes!). But, I'm having a baby and trying to keep that amazing end-goal in sight.
Yesterday two co-workers individually pointed out that I'm looking 'poochy', so...I guess that means I'm showing ? ;) My scale says I've gained 6 pounds, the docter's says 2. It seems that weight can really fluctuate throughout the day.
Recent cravings: Blueberrys, blackberries, and bran. The other night I had a hankering for bran so I scarfed down two bowls worth before bed. No one should consume that much AllBran on any random occasion! ;)
Oh yeah, Our crib arrived yesterday!!! Jeremy just cracked open the box and is going to spend the afternoon assembling it. We're so ahead of ourselves :)

Stroller and update
I wrote this on Xanga (a different weblog) originally, but then realized that this is more the place to go 'baby crazy' with journal stuff. So here it is :) (with more on the bottom)
We just ordered our stroller!!! I'm so excited!!! We were pretty much settled on this one, the Dreamer Design Park Avenue, which is really great. The thing that kept nagging me was that some reviews mentioned that the seat was small, so once your kid hits 2 years old he's cramped. I figured, we may have a tall kid, so it's better to go roomy. The wight limit for this one is 40 lbs, but the Bob is 70. I still prefer the overall appearance of this one (kinda sleek and stylish and fun), but it's 4 pound heavier (bad for me these days) and isn't really meant for allterrain (ie. camping or jogging in 3-hills):
But then my friend (Missy) mentioned the Bob revolution (which I had not researched at all-- and I thought I had researched them ALL) and we discovered that it had a few more things going for it (though not the height adjustable handle or reverse seat). It seems a bit tougher, will take the child when it's bigger/heavier/taller, and sounds super tough, even on gravel, snow, and trails. So yeah, we purchased this just now through an online supplier, and saved about $100 off the regular retail price! We still need to purchase the car seat adapter, but we'll wait on that. We're really excited! (And Missy...I hope you don't mind that we're going to have the same brand stroller! )
In other news....
Since the fainting episode I've been more in-tune with how my body feels and what it needs. I've been incredibly exhausted lately (fibromyalgia meets pregnancy?), even more so than the first 2 months, which is really weird to me. It also seems like I need a constant flow of sugar or calories to keep me from feeling woozy and weak. We picked up some hardcore blueberry/pomegranate juice yesterday (pretty potent) and I'm finding that it helps balance things out.
Depending on the time of day, I've got a bit of belly going on :) The funny thing is, I think I'm 'showing' more on my butt and thighs than anywhere else! I'm sure my docter will have soemthing to say about all the seasonal hours dorvs and snacks I've been consuming as well.... Next appointment is this Monday!!!
