We are now into our 31st week... and baby is really growing... and so am I!  Still recovering from my cold this week but hopefully I will be fully on the mend soon!  Emer and I travelled one LAST time to Assiniboia this week.  Long days spent in steel toed boots again... and 30 degree temps took their toll on me, so I am happy to be back in the office for the rest of the week.  Starting to feel a little uncomfortable now.  Even on the plane everything was good until I had to bend down to pick up my bag from under the seat in front of me....turned out to be quite a challenge.  I didnt think my feet would carry me to the Park and Jet stop lat nite after such a long day and all that standing, but I managed!  Emer is permanently lodged under my right side ribs.... so even sitting is difficult now.  I sure hope I can enjoy these next few weeks! 

Sunday was Father's Day...so I cooked Riles a "lumberjack" breakfast that tied us over until supper I think!  Of course, since I had been sick all week I had procrastinated on my shopping until SAT... Emer wanted to get Daddy something nice for his Father-to-be Day, but we had no luck finding what we were looking for!  So very disappointed.  Eventually we will find it though! Riles was funny though...insisting that he is not yet a Dad so we shouldnt have to celebrate this day... but in my mind he is just as much a Daddy as I am a mom... he has been taking such good care of me and Emer that we could not let the day go by without awknowledging it!  One other thing we did do...for all of you that have asked... we registered at Babies R Us for a few of the items still left on our list.  That turned out to be a real production as apparently they only employ 1 person?!?!  So it seemed anyways.  But now that is done and out of the way. 

On Friday my mom will come down to spend the weekend...then next weekend we are off on our BABYMOON in Golden!  We rented a little cabin and plan to eat at fabulous local restaurant while we are there. There is also a private outdoor hot tub that we are sure to enjoy- not to worry...we will keep it on the cool side.  We are just not too sure what mom will WEAR for this occasion as I refuse to buy myself a maternity bathing suit!  I am sure it will be "attractive"...whatever it is!

So I am still sick today-- and have not had a full nites sleep since last Wednesday!  Riles was kind enough to run out last nite and grab me all of the medicine I am "allowed" to have, but it didnt seem to make much difference.  Oh how I would LOVE some Neocitron!!  All of the couching and sniffling must have even left EMER tired as there was very little movement yesterday...maybe the Benylin zonked the baby out!  I was reassured today at the doc appt though... as Emer booted the doppler!  The heart beat is now 130BPM...maybe we ARE having a boy-- better get on the name!!  Other things I learned at the appt were that I have not gained any weight since the last (phew!), but that my blood pressure is 135 over something!  Up from last time so she will be keeping an eye on it. 

Other than that there is not much new with us.  Gramma Karen will visit next weekend and hopefully help us finish baby's room.  Nothing is hung on the walls-- once it is finished I promise to post some pics!

Next week is my last trip to the plant.  I am not looking forward to the drive from Regina as it is starting to be uncomfortable sitting so straight up....I have a knee or foot jabbed into my ribs it seems.... Oh and I almost forgot.... it was like Christmas yesterday! One of the VPs wives sent me a whole bag full of maternity clothes yesterday!  They are even my size so I am hoping these few new things will get me through the last weeks!  Yay for Emer- we are almost 30 weeks!!

It's not much longer till Emer arrives now!  I can hardly believe we are heading in to the 8th month in one week from today! 

The weekend was a busy one spent hanging out with the girls in Edmonton.  We ate great food, shopped and went to Sex in the City-- the perfect girls weekend really.  I am paying for it now with a sore throat and sore feet but overall I can't complain as it was great to see the girls and spend some time together!  Riles was at home with his sis and Dad which was also a good way for him to relax and unwind... with all this rain they didnt have much of a choice!  Alicia updated us on the babypool so far and looks like some fairly good guesses...but mostly BIG babies...and GIRL!  She also brough along her stethoscope to see if we could hear Emer's heartbeat, but no luck!  We.. I mean SHE...did a lot of poking and prodding to see if we could feel some kicks, but Emer did not cooperate!  It was the funniest thing as she touched and squished my belly (bare!) around... with Riley being the overprotective Father telling her "DON'T!"!  :) 

I can really tell that the baby is growing stronger and bigger every day now. The movements I have felt this weekend are different than before.... they are much stronger and more deliberate.  It's the coolest thing, although a very weird sensation to say the least.  Riley was able to feel it last nite and was also surprised with how it felt.  Aside from that still no definite BOY name picked out.. I wonder if that means we are having a girl???  We are now taking suggestions! LOL!  This week I have another DOC appt and promise to actually put up a picture for the week-- tomorrow! We are now in the 29th week and still feeling really good.  There has not been much to update lately as everything is progressing as it should.  Still not feeling HUGE which is good news... I can last a couple months being huge if that is what it comes down to!  I do think it may be time to move into the FULL SHOWER though as shaving the legs is a bit awkward these days.  Went for a massage yesterday which should help with the headaches that have crept back.  Aside from that my lower back aches in the night, but seems to be good during the day at least so I can't complain too much.  Happy to AGAIN report that the belly button still points INWARD!  Every week Riley says "this is the week"... but so far so good.  The countdown is definitely on now with 82 days according to my "countdown".  Aunty Alicia has started a baby pool (for those of you that didnt receive it...let me know if you are interested)...and it's exciting to see the dates that people are starting to pick.  So far my favourite guess was Blake Hesjedal who guessed an EARLY and SMALL baby!  So keep the guesses coming.

This weekend I head to Edmonton to meet up with the girls for our annual girls weekend... unfortunately for me I wont be partaking in the shopping and beverage sipping that I would normally be all over! :(  But it will be nice to get away one last time before the summer gets really busy and I start to feel more uncomfortable.  I have one last business trip planned for June 16th which makes me very happy... I will stay put after that!  One lady at the plant assues me she has had "training" on how to deliver a baby, but I would prefer to NOT give birth to our first child in the middle of nowhere!  Definitely gotta find some insoles for those steel toed boots this time! too 

Anyways- sorry we didnt post the newest pic- I didnt care much for it...so maybe we will take another shot tonite to post something!  I have been requested to take more "consistent" shots....so hopefully you can get a better idea of how things are progressing...!  Have a great day everyone!
