Prenatal Classes- Done!

Well we had a good but busy weekend.  Prenatal classes were Friday evening and all day Saturday.  We had a great instructor which kept things amusing and there was lots of stuff to go through, but I am left wondering if spreading out the info download may not have been a bad idea.  It was a lot to take in all at once.  Prior to this I was avoiding the whole thought of Emer's actual arrival, but now we have had 2 days to focus only on that.  Riley and I both feel we are better prepared for what's ahead which is good.  Only he feels good about the whole process and I am only a little freaked!  Oh well...at least one of us will know what we are doing.  Riles was great in the class...he even asked a few questions and learned how to give a good back massage on the big day!  The only really baffling thing about the course itself is WHY WHY make pregnant worman..or anyone for that matter, sit on rock hard chairs for so many consecutive hours!! Even more odd...with that many hindered bladders in one course, you'd think they would have scheduled more than one break every 2 hours!  :)  Oh well...no Riles is anxious to run out and get the few remaining items for after the birth so there may be a bit of shopping involved for us today. Hopefully my feet dont puff up like they did last nite... I guess it's the first time they have been so puffy, but I really hope this is not the start of a common occurence!  They looked like tree trunks!!

Anyways sorry we dont have much to update these days...even my weekly on-line updates are getting to be boring...now we just have to wait for Emer to decide it's time!

We're Having a....

Haha-- gotcha!  We still don't know, however after todays appt I am still convinced we have a better chance of it being a boy than a girl!  Heartbeat ranged from 120-130 bpm and baby Emer is measuring right on target.  Blood pressure was fine today and other than that Daddy made sure I got all of my questions answered... good thing for him since I forget what they are half of the time!  Although the "stone" pain is getting more frequent we were told that "worse" would mean back/kidney pain.  As long as we make it another 3 weeks we are smooth sailing either way!  Still no great explanation for the aching spots on my stomach.. she still says its stretching and will eventually let up... and then the baby will drop anyways.. so guess a few more weeks of that should be all of what I have to endure... here's hoping!

Sorry there isnt much news to share- but no news is good news!  We go back again in 2 weeks...then will start our weekly visits!

Have a good day everyone!

MMMM.... Home Depot!

So many of you are already aware.... these days I am obsessed with the smell of hardware stores, mildew and dust!  Yes, I know... very weird.  Even Walmart has the musty smell as soon as you walk in...that I have come to love.  Riley bugs me constantly asking me if I want to go to Home Depot!  The smell of the inside of the washing machine is like heaven.  But the good news is....at least I am not eating dirt!  However, I have found radishes offer the next best thing to that smell!  They are my new thing!

Not too much else is new with us. We were in NB for the weekend visiting our grandparents.  It was good to be able to spend a bit more time with all of them... without the usual rushing around.  They were excited to see the babybump and although some figure they know the sex of the baby, others are completely confused.  Either way we have discovered that baby Emer is a bit shy as no one could feel kicks except for mommy and daddy.  Aunty Alicia and Nana were able to feel more hiccups though, so that was good.  Aunty A greeted us with a huge care package for M... everything from a thermometer soother to lotions, blankets and sleepers.  Emer is going to be one spoiled baby!!!!!

It feels like the baby has grown so much these last 2 weeks. My stomach is "as hard as a drum"...according to my Dad.  Today, Riles and I had a good laugh as he pointed at my lopsided belly.  Emer is completely on my right side... I dont know what he/she has against the left side of my body, but I would sure enjoy the break! My skin seems about to burst and still hurts to the touch.  I have had more pain with the "stones" lately...but I will find out on Thursday if that is expected and at what point I should become concerned.  YES...another doc appt on Thursday...Daddy plans to come to this one!  This weekend we take our prenatal course and are both looking forward to that.  There is not much time now!

Anyways- thought we would catch  you up on what we have been up to.  Check out the photo page as I plan to post pics of the baby room... we finally found the finishing touch in NB.  Hope everyone is well!

Kyla, Riley and Emer!
