Baby has arrived!

The Left Side

Emer has decided it would be ok to use up some of the left side of my tummy.  Thank God- finally a LITTLE relief from the right side and the ribs.  I think the baby may have moved down a bit as well... as I am feeling new pains/strains in the pelvis.  It's funny how much of a difference one week can make.  My upper thighs are stiff along with my pelvis and lower back.  The baby bulge still appears quite high though so I dont think we are getting any official dropping action yet.  Other than that I have been trying to rest a bit more the last couple days. Riles has been busy busy building a garden shed with Blain each evening so this has given me some time to lounge around and even catch a few ZZZZs in the evening.  Overall I am not that tired though.  I had one really good sleep on MONday nite which was HEAVEN... and a not bad sleep last nite.  We plan to have a fairly relaxing weekend though so that will be nice.  Our next doc appt is on Friday and it seems I have a lot of questions this time around.

Couple other things I may have forgot to mention.  Have had some weird cravings lately!  The main thing is my craving for the SMELL of things!  PArticularly CANADIAN TIRE and HOME DEPOT...but this also extends to the smell of anything dusty or mildewy...the inside of the washing machine for instance! I know...really weird!  But I love it!  But NO I am not eating DIRT or anything weird like that! :)  As for foods... I am now really onto RADISHES.. I think about them all day...and wonder why I didnt bring any to work with me!  I think it's the fact that they tast pretty darn close to DIRT! :)  Who knows.  On the not so weird side is a new found love for fresh peaches.. and we are back to the grilled peppers too.

Well- think that is all of our news.  Hope you are having a great week!

Love Kyla

Emer is 35 Weeks!

Which means we are in the 36th week starting TODAY... and also the 9th month!   And BOY can I tell we are on the home stretch now!  It was all fun and games until about a week ago!  When I read my website updates about the 36th week they say the baby gains 1/2 pound a week and I can sure feel that!  I swear my stomach has shot out in the last week or so.  It is so heavy now and walking takes effort!  My feet are aching most of the time now, although I am happy to report that flats finally feel ok.  So I may be looking for yet another pair of shoes to last until the end.  Sleeping is still not great.  I am sure I was up another 6-8 times last night...it's hot and my Emer Belly hurts as even a pillow wedged under it does not seem to help alleviate the stress M puts on it. Last week I did go for a massage and a trip to the Chiropractor which did feel good, so may have to book a few more of those.  But for now, I think I should be prepared to feel pretty much like this for the remaining weeks!  On the "emotional" front, my hormones have been a little whacked as the smallest thing seems to be able to set me off these days.  Riley has been good though and doesnt seem to take things tooooo personally.

We have another doc apppointment on Thursday which then should follow with weekly appointments until Emer arrives.  This weekend we also have a breastfeeding clinic put on by the health region.  Figure it can't hurt after all the stories I hear.  We seem to be keeping ourselves fairly scheduled each weekend as next weekend we head to Cranbrook for a wedding as well.  That will be our last planned out of town trip.  I am hoping the remaining weekends in August will be fairly relaxing for us.  I am done work on Aug 15th--boy I hope I can make it that much longer...and still have something to wear!  There are times that I begin to wonder, but if nothing else it will keep me preoccupied!

Well- really nothing new to report to everyone.  incase you are interested the website update says the baby could weight between 4.5 and 5.5 pounds now and measure about 19 inches.  Have a great Monday!

Pig's Feet!

This weekend Amanda and Baby Risling were down visiting Emer, Riley and I.  It was a quick trip, but it was great to have the company and advice of someone that's been through all of this before.  We shopped, we ate, we chatted and we laughed!  Of course, now I am exhausted but it was well worth it.  After some shopping at a number of baby stores we went and got a pedicure... the same guy did mine as before... in hisbroken English he asked "that baby won't come out yet?!".  The pedicure was Amanda's treat...and a wonderful treat it was! Thanks again! :)

Aside from that the past week has been a bit harder on my body it seems... I can only hope it wont get much worse!  My feet were swollen all weekend..by the end of the day today I will be sure to get a pic of them as I can't help but laugh about it!  When they took the "toe-seperator" thingies from between my toes at the pedicure...there were welts on each toe!  Baby is feeling especially heavy the last few days as my heart burn increases and my walk SLOWS down to a mere waddle!  So here is hoping our time is nearing!  Today we will get a few things done around the house and then relax in my "paddling" pool I hope!

Well- check in with us later as I hope to get a couple pics up today- I still owe you one from last week!  Have a great Sunday everyone!

Belly Buldge

Emer is still hiccuping away in there!  And punching and kicking... it's absolutely adorable, but my right side is SO sore these days.  The baby's bum has not moved out of my ribs for MONTHS now I swear.  It totally favours my right side and it's usually obvious as my stomach is buldged out to the one side.  I will try to "gently" push the bum down as it kills to sit and eat or drive... but then I end up with a boot to the already VERY tender area.. so for now, I will wait until the baby drops for some relief...in that area anyways!  My feet seem to be swelling each day now, but luckily the "bigger" shoes I bought are still fitting!  Aside from that I have not slept well since last THURS I believe.  Getting up every 1/2 hour or so to go to the bathroom has not been at all conducive to sleep for me or Riley so hope I can get back on track soon and am not doomed for the rest of the pregnancy.  Hot, hungry, tired and pregnant is probably not the best combination!

On Sunday Riles and I went shopping to pick up a few last things on the "list" for baby and mommy's arrival at home.  There were some doozies, but Riley wasn't phased at all by it!  We bought all sorts of things from massagers from Body Shop, yummy Strawberry toiletries for MOMMY, and a hot water bottle... etc!  We also started to wash all of the stuff for baby.  All the cute outfits we already have have all been washed and folded up now- that load of laundy had to have been the cutest I have seen... even Riley was into it!  All those cute little cloths and socks!  We also build the cradle for in our room so that is also ready to go now.  Only thing left is the packing of the hospital bag, which I am sure we will get to sooner than later.  Only 5.5 weeks left now!

Well- thanks for continuing to read up on us!  Oh- some have asked what we still have left on our "wish list" for Emer... I will try to put something up a little later...or you can always check our registry at Babies R Us... there isnt much on there, but might give some ideas.

Love the Spaks!
