The 3 am curse!

I don't know if Emer has decided to party every night at 3am-- OR WHAT?  But I honestly cannot remember the last night that I slept at all after 3 or 3:30!  I still dont' think I have really felt the baby moving... but I am starting to wonder if I am just not paying attention enough... something is obviously keeping me awake!  Any thoughts ladies?!  Even tried to feed the little thing last night...thinking it was worth a try-- strawberries did not seem to make any difference.  Even Koho has decided that he no longer wants to sleep with me... after discovering that "his spot" behind my bent knees is now taken up by a pillow... he is not at all interested!  At least there is only one animal to contend with now!

Anyways- if anyone has any good ideas for insomnia please let me know... 6 hours a night is just not cutting it anymore!! :)  Have a great weekend everyone, we will update you once we go for this next prenatal appt next week.

No Mexican!

So apparently our little love child did not appreciate the Mexican food I ate for lunch yesterday.  Nor did I once the heartburn kicked in by about 4pm.  After 3 chewy Rolaids, and some water... we'd had enough!  I felt MUCH better after being sick...although my entire throat was on fire... I can see why I had heartburn.  Really was not a spicy meal at all...but so much for thinking that Salsa Fresca was going to be my new 'it' food!  URGH!

Aside from that I am happy to report I have begun wearing perfume again finally in the last week or so.  Yes, couldnt stand any of my lotions and certainly not perfume for the past 2 months!  Yay for Palmer's Cocoa butter lotion as it was the only scent I could stand for weeks!

These days I am still really enjoying calling baby EMER... so much so that I am still trying to talk Riley into letting us name the baby that when it's born... dont worry... I am only half serious!  I am going to miss saying it though... it's such the perfect name for the little 4 incher right now!  Anyways- that's it for today!

15 Weeks!

Well Friday was one of the first days that Riley and I really noticed there had been some progress made to the baby belly.  I think it's cute how Riles just looks at me ...and grins...almost giggling! I really wonder exactly WHAT he is thinking!  Happy to say I have really only gained another pound since my last doc appointment so I think we are pretty much on track.  The headaches have subsided... and another massage on the weekend should have done the trick on the neck pain.  Only other weird thing I really noticed this weekend was a RACING heart.  I had layed down to snooze for a bit... and it felt like my heart was gonna jump out of my chest.  Guess that's the extra blood pumping now... that is also the cause of the stuffy nose I am told too.  Lately suppers have been tasting better and better...and I even made 10pm most nights this weekend which is not bad considering I had to work on Sat.  The urge to eat McDonald's BBQ sauce still haunts me... but I have managed not to give in for the last couple weeks.... well... till today...but now I am cut off again for a few weeks... I promise!

The Spaks are still on the hunt for the stroller we want...and of course the matching change table for Emer's room... but we managed to not spend a dime this weekend.... a feat in itself these days!       Anyways- that is about all we know for now... we are looking forward to the 28th when we have the next ultrasound.  No plans to find out the sex...but my husband's "keen eye" (as he calls it!) may detect it all on his own.... so he says! Keep you posted!

Everyone Knows!

So the word at my office is officially OUT!  I feel much better now that everyone knows... and now they can stop wondering if I am "just getting fat!"  Everyone has taken it really well and been genuinely happy for us... which is a huge relief since you never know how it will be taken!  What's not to love about babies though!

So far, only one guy at work said that he had suspected it.  Apparently he noticed that I had bought all new pants after Christmas....when I finally realized I would not be getting any SMALLER!  He says bigger pants could only mean 1 of 2 things-- I was pregnant...or had decided just to give up and let myself go!  He also said he thought it was odd I would be starting on birth control at this stage of my life...in other words he noticed the difference in the "bust size"!  I think that is pretty observant for a guy to figure all this out!

anyways- just wanted to let everyone know the cat is fully and officially out of the bag...and things are all good!
