Fat Day!

Well this week I managed to have ONE headache free day!  Yesterday that is!  I have found the regime I think! A shot of coffee in the morning...half a coke in the afternoon... wheat bag, followed by bath and sleep both infused with Lavender Oil...my new best friend.  Worked like a charm WED night, although I skipped the bath and wheat bag part yesterday and I could certainly tell as my sleep was not near as good!  Will give it another whirl today!

Aside from that this morning I went to wear the SAME pants I wore on MONDAY..since I am down to TWO official pairs of actual dress pants..and have meetings today so could not wear my jeans... and of COURSE... they didnt FIT!  I can no longer pass them off as acceptable... I looked like a stuff sausage... SO...I must check out the 3 other maternity stores this weekend that I found online.  Here is hoping I can find at least ONE pair to get me by.  As I was feeling sorry for myself I kind of had to laugh... for once I should not be so hard on myself if something feels tight...so I am OVER myself and will smile thinking about an ever growing baby instead of the usual negative thoughts that come along with morning wardrobe malfunctions!  YAY for little Emer who is obviously getting a bit bigger every day!

Have a great weekend everyone... thanks for reading and for all the little emails about this journal... at least I know people are still reading it!

Prenatal Checkup!

So this morning Riley and I both went to the prenatal appt.  After a long anticipated wait of about 45 minutes.. (we were only the second appt of the day!)... I think it was all worth it.  Riles says he felt "HAD" as the appointment only lasted about 5 minutes! :)  Just checked the scale, blood pressure and answered some questions.  She was not concerned about anything.  Then came the best part... hearing little Emer's beating heart again!  Riley says it was not what he was expecting...comparing it to a helicopter!  It really does make you realize that there is a little person growing inside of me and it is so reassuring to hear that heart just a beating away... 153 BPM to be exact!  The Doctor claims alot of babies hearts beat faster at first so not to assume its a GIRL based on the old wives tale!  So time will tell! I only have one more appt with this doctor then we are off to the OB/GYN...which to Riley's delight is a much shorter drive!

Anyways- still no picture up of the 4month bump, but soon we promise! Have a great day...

Love Riley, Kyla and Baby Spakling!

To Emer's Dad

T-Thank you for all of the sweet little things you have done to make me feel better the last 4 months

H-Having new things to laugh about with you has been one of my most favorite things these days

A-Another 24 weeks until I get to see a miniature you-- I can't wait!

N-No one could possibly be as good a Dad as you!

K-Keep smiling that little grin everytime you catch a glimpse of my "baby belly"...It's the oddest thing but I wonder what the heck is going on in your mind at that moment!

S-Stop letting the details worry you-- for I am not worried at all... I know that Emer will be one lucky baby to have us both as parents!

Love you Riles!

Emer's 4 Months!

Well today marks exactly 16 weeks!  Yay for baby Emer!

I am so excited to meet this sweet little thing..lately I have begun to picture what the baby will look like...and I am way too excited!  I don't know if I can wait so much longer!  This weekend the Spak's managed to catch up on some sleep...although that all went to waste last night after not sleeping a wink (literally!).  Still not too much progress with things...although I did go to the Maternity store for the first time so far.  I managed to find a few casual things but I was so disappointed with the "dress" clothes...that I really dont know where I will go to find things.  All of the dress pants were either NOT what I would consider dress pants... or were such a clingy material that a 16 year old hoochie probably wouldn't be seen in them!  URGH! Was so disappointed! To top things off... I am probably REALLY going to need at least ONE pair fairly shortly!  Oh well!  When I got home and tried on the outfits for Riley I was really surprised at how much more "pregnant" they really make you look!  We still have to take our 4 month picture tonite...so stay tuned!  Other than that, I have perhaps changed my mind on the baby nursery... at first it was supposed to be cream and beige etc etc... now I am thinking of really jazzing up the walls with some sort of dark/rich aqua type color... so I dont' know!  There WAS a sale at Benjamin Moore when I was there...and everyone knows I can't pass up a deal... so while Riley waited outside for me to get "samples"... out I came with a gallon of paint!  Apparently you can buy the paint during the sale...and tint later! What a bargain!  :)  Riley was so cute when I mentioned that we had had lots of volunteers to paint the baby room... he was actually quite offended telling me "it's the DAD"S job to paint the baby room!"  I had no idea he felt so strongly! So thank you to all of the volunteers,,,but EMER"S DAD will be taking on that duty! He did suggest that if you really still want to paint you can come and do the rest of the rooms I all of a sudden have the urge to paint! :)

Next Doc appt is tomorrow so we will keep you posted-- Riles will come with me as he really wants to hear Emer's little heart beating.  I can't wait either!
