First prenatal appointment - Friday, Aug. 12 Done! Very encouraging results!

6 week mark - sometime around Aug. 16-17? Done! Actually, the day I started to miscarry counts as my first cycle day, so I'm already 6 weeks on Aug. 13!

First ultrasound - I hope it' soon! Possibly next month? Sept. 9 Done! Baby looks great! Heartbeat was strong and everything looks fine! Baby measured 4.0 cm.

Grandparents day (when we'll tell our parents) - Sunday, Sept. 11 We went ahead and spilled the beans 2 days early, right after our first ultrasound.

Second ultrasound (to measure the "nuchal fold") - Sept. 23 Done! Doctors said they would have to send me to a high-risk specialist to do a measurement, so I declined. Baby looks great, though, and measured 4.9 cm. We also heard the heartbeat!

12 week mark (when we tell everyone else) - sometime around Sept. 27 Done! All our friends and co-workers were shocked and excited. I think the building shook from the impact of all the jaws hitting the floor!

Start of second trimester - first part of October (October 11) I made it! Yay! Baby still has a lot of growing to do, though.

Four-month office visit - Oct. 21. Done! Baby's heartbeat was 152 beats per minute. We discussed the triple screen test, and decided not to do it.

Ultrasound to determine baby's sex - Nov. 18 It's a GIRL! At 19-1/2 weeks, she weighs 0.84 lb and measures 14cm. What a cutie!

First kicks - ?? I've been feeling movement for some time now, but actually felt something very big on Nov. 20th.

Baby registry - Nov. 27th That was fun! And exhausting! Brenda, Melissa, and I spent FOUR HOURS in Babies R' Us, and there's STILL plenty to add to the registry!

Blood test (for glucose, etc.) - Dec. 27 or 28 Dec. 28, tested glucose and iron. Stll waiting for the results. I passed! Results show that I am not anemic or diabetic.

Start of third trimester (home stretch) - first part of January We have arrived! Hard to believe I've made it this far already. Yay!

Baby shower (family) - February 11 Lots of fun at Maggiano's! Debra really outdid herself! And Baby got a truckload of stuff, making it more like a Baby Monsoon than a Baby Shower.

Baby shower (friends) - February 18 Brenda and Melissa did an EXCELLENT job! Alex and I enjoyed sharing the love with our good friends, some of whom I hadn't seen for a while!

Hospital tour - February 21 Good tour! We got a few freebies, saw some maternity suites, and had a few laughs at the nursery over the world record swaddling time of one of the expert nurses.

Childbirth classes - March 4 & 11 - So far, so good. Plenty of interesting stuff to make me feel more comfortable about the near future. Unfortunately, we had to miss the second part, because I was hospitalized for toxemia,.

Baby shower (co-workers) - March 8 (Shh! It's a SURPRISE!)
They did a good job and I could tell how hard they tried to surprise me.

Due date - sometime around April 10 8 11 - Looks more like March 21 20 now!
Baby Alyssa arrived Monday, March 20th at 3:18 PM!
