Happy Father's Day Happy Father's Day to my dad, Johan's dad, and all the dads out there. ..... Remember on Mother's Day when at church they had all the mothers stand up and they gave them a flower. And how Johan told me that next year I could stand up, and that next year I'll be a mother, and not this year. Well they had all the fathers stand yesterday and gave them all a chocolate bar. And our friends sitting near us were trying to get Johan to stand up too. I gave Johan the "stand up and I'll kill you" look. He remaind sitting.

It's been a while. It's been a while since I've updated this site. I've started hearing from a few people about it wanting to know when I was going to write more. I haven't been ignoring the site, just too busy to write. So let me give everyone the latest updates...... All the things I had ordered came in right on schedule. Everything looks great. I have everything lined up along the wall in the living room so I can look at it. I'll post a picture. I'm not sure how that diaper stacker thing works, it didn't come with any directions. When we get over to Babies R Us I'll check out the ones they have on display. The mobile is really cute, although Austin thought it was a toy for him. The colors match exactly with the green color that we painted the living room and stairway and hallway. So we decided that we will use that color (light sage green) in the nursery. The living room is done in a flat paint, the nursery will be in satin enamel. The sage green color will be on the bottom part. For the top part we will take that green and mix it with a little white, so that it will have the same tones, just lighter. Then we'll take that to Home Depot and they'll mix us a gallon of it. This will be the top part. In the middle we're going to do a chair rail molding. This will be white. The closet doors are also white. And along the top of the walls will the the Noah's Ark wallpaper border........ So we have never put up wallpaper before, oh what a project it has already become. First of all, all of our walls are textured, and wallpaper doesn't stick to textured walls. So we needed to sand the walls. We have an electric sander, but what a mess it makes. We did this yesterday and let me tell you it was such a messy, awful, time consuming, dirty, horrible, job it became. The sander has a bag attachment to collect the dust, doesn't work. We took that off and held the vacuum cleaner hose up to it. It collected alot of the dust, but the stuff was so fine it got absolutely everywhere. Today I spent hours washing the walls in there. We had taken everything out of the room to begin with, but we weren't thinking smartly and didn't take the things out of the closet. Even though the closet doors were shut the whole time, everything in the closet is covered in dust. So that will be the next chore, to clean everything in the closet. We should of taken it out to begin with. We were planning all along to empty the closet anyways. Now we made the task twice as long. And we had already painted the ceiling a month ago, now we need to repaint it because the sander left nice scuff marks as we went along the walls. I just hope it was worth it. ..... Next week I hope we can get to painting. ......Some of our family has started mentioning that they would like to buy us gifts for the nursery and baby. Of the major items we need, my dad will be buying the crib, changing table, dresser, and maybe the rocking chair. Johan's dad has said he will buy us the stroller as a gift. Alot of people keep asking me when we'll register. I'm not sure exactly when yet, but we'll get around to it. Right now we're concentrating on the major items, the things we wouldn't register for anyways. But thank you to everyone who has already gotten us a gift, and thank you to those in advance who are planning on buying us a gift.

Nusery Decorations We've started to get things for the nursery. I ordered the bedding and a bunch of decorations. If you look at the photo of the nursery theme that I posted a while back, we've ordered everything for sale in that photo except for the turtle and girafe stuffed animals. Here's a list of what's comming: the 4 piece bedding set, the diaper stacker, the musical mobile, the blanket, the 2 decorative pillows, the window valance, the wallpaper border, the 5 pictures on the wall, and the lampshade. According to UPS tracking system, all this should arrive this Friday...... Once we have the bedding and the wallpaper, then we can match the paint colors and do the walls, after we do the walls then we'll buy the furniture.
