time is flying I was just looking at the ticker at the top of the page and I can't believe how fast this is all going. I really love being pregnant. I think I'm going to miss being pregnant. It is only 10 weeks until October 18th!

Showers and Registering Okay I'll talk about the showers first. Yes I said showers not shower. I am going to be having two baby showers. The first one is being giving by Melissa. And this will be a non traditional shower. In fact I'm not even calling that one a shower. I'll call it a baby celebration get together. It will be at my house on September 4th. Guys and girls are all welcome, it will be very casual. It will be with everyone from work and a few other people I know. The other one is being given by the girls in my Young Marrieds group at church. This will be more of a traditional shower. All the girls will meet at one house and all the guys will meet at another house. No date has been set yet for that one. ........... Okay so as I said in the other post we did finally go and register at Babies R Us and at Target. But before I go on I just want to say that I am by no means expecting people to buy gifts, or would I think anything if they didn't. And Johan thinks people shouldn't buy gifts, go figure. okay now I'll continue. Most the things are at Babies R Us, but there are some things at Target too. Also I'd like to add that if you happen to find the item at a different store cheaper and want to buy it go ahead. Just call Babies R Us and tell them to adjust the registry (mark it as bought). They told us not to register for clothes because each store carries different clothes and are constantly changing. So we do need clothes even though we didn't register for it. I also didn't register for many toy type items because the toy section was pretty much cleared out, I think they were changing their inventory. We tried to keep items fairly inexpensive on the registry. There are some more expensive items that we added not so much as we thought people would buy them for us, more of just so that we know which one we picked out and will save time when we go back and buy it. Also is someone wanted to buy baby clothes, please by all means don't spend too much money. Some of the clothes can be quite expensive, and from what others have told me he will outgrow or stain them very quickly. For those who live here in town there are a few great used childrens clothing stores here. And the clothes are just like brand new, some still have the tags on them. The ones I know of are Kid to Kid and Children's Orchard.

Kick Counts Now that I have reached 28 weeks my doctor wants me to do Kick Counts everyday. These measure the movement of the baby to ensure all is going well. This is how it is done: At about the same time everyday I need to sit or lay down and count from the first movement I feel until I feel 10 movements. If I reach 1 hour and haven't felt 10 movements I need to then get up walk around for a bit and start over. If I reach 1 hour again and haven't felt 10 movements I'm to go straight to Labor and Delivery (not the emergency) so they can do an ultrasound. He said about once a week this happens to one of his patients where they don't get their kick counts. But he said 9 times out of 10 everything is fine and the baby was just sleepy. But it's done to catch that one patient where the baby is actually slowing down. and to catch it before its too late. I've done it two nights now and I've gotten the 10 movements in 34 minutes and 43 minutes.

Doctor's Visit week 28 I had a doctors appointment on Friday. All the usual stuff. Checked my weight, urine, blood pressure, listen to the heartbeat, measured my belly (my uterus actually). He said that I didn't gain much this month. Only 1 pound. He said I should of gained 4 pounds. When he was measuring my belly he always just measures up and down. This time he measured side to side. He said that I measured on the small side. But he also added that I am a small person to begin with. He didn't seem overly concerned. But he is going to do an ultrasound at my next appointment in 2 weeks. He asked about what and how much I eat. And I really do eat alot I think for my size. I'm never really hungry. I've always tried to eat something before I get hungry. And he asked Johan how I eat. Johan told him he'd be surprised at how much I can actually eat. So it's not that I'm not eating enough. I'm just a small person. And I don't think anyone who knows me would disagree. But just to be on the safe side I'm forcing myself to eat more. Which is kinda hard. I've never tried to gain weight before, as I'm sure most people don't try to. So I'm on a mission. Eat, Eat, Eat!
