Deal of a lifetime on the rocking chair and ottoman!
We went to buy the rocking chair glider the other day. The prices are absolutely outrageous. They average about $350 to $500 for the chair. And then the ottoman all seem to be the same price at $179. The first store we went to was Babies R Us in Henderson. We left because of the prices. So we drove all the way across town to USA Baby at Craig and 95 where we had bought the furniture. The prices there were even more money. So then we started calling regular furniture stores. Most said that they carried them, but they would all need to be ordered and it would take 8-10 weeks. So we were a bit discouraged. But we decided to try the Babies R Us on that side of town. They had all the same ones at the same prices as the one in Henderson. But they had one that they were selling the floor model of. It was original price of $419 and it was marked down to $349. They said they could take off an additional 25%. Which brought the price down to $263. Unbelievable price. But wait, it gets better. ......... So we still needed an ottoman. Well that one didn't have an ottoman. So we figured we would buy one of the $179 ottomans and have the fabric done to match the chair. But as the lady was putting it in the computer she discovered that we couldn't do that because not only has that chair been discontinued but so has the fabric. But then she said she had an idea. She said that there was an ottoman from a former discontinued chair that had been sitting in the back warehouse for the last 6 months. She went and got it and we took it out of the box and it completely didn't match the chair at all. I asked how much was this ottoman and she said it was $4.98. So we bought it. Even though is a different color wood and a different color fabric than the chair who cares, it was only 5 dollars! oh, and then I had a coupon for $5 off anything in the store. So for both the chair and the ottoman and the tax it was only $282. When if everything was at the original prices it would of been almost $600 . And especially now that I'm not getting a paycheck we really couldn't afford to pay that much. ...... Oh and it's a chair that I really like. See I'm a short person (no one will argue that) and a lot of the chairs that I sat in were just way too big. They were not comfortable. The head rest didn't hit me at the right spot, same with the lower back. And there was one I sat in where I couldn't even touch the floor (no laughing allowed at that). So this one is on the smaller size which is perfect for me. Although it might me a bit uncomfortable for Johan to sit in it for long times, but it's great for me and I'll be the one sitting in it 90% of the time.

Low Amniotic Fluid
Okay, so here is the full story of what is going on. Remember how at my last appointment the doctor said that I measured small. So he sent me for an ultrasound to make sure the baby was growing. I had the ultrasound on Thursday. And as I said in my last post that the baby is growing good. He's actually on the large side of the average scale weighing in at 3 1/2 pounds. But what they discovered was the reason I had measured small was because I don't have enough amniotic fluid. I knew something was up when after the ultrasound the technician didn't let me leave. She told me to wait in the waiting room until she could call my doctor. My doctor was in surgery so I met with one of the other doctors in the practice. She told me about my low fluid and told me to drink lots of water and not to do anything strenuous. ...... So then Friday morning was my appointment with Dr. Fleisher. He said what Dr. Trye had said. He also took me out of work. And I'm to drink lots of water / juice. I'm to exceed 1 to 1 1/2 gallons of water a day. ..... Looking back I did think I drank a lot of water. But I can see now that my job (in the kitchen on my feet not always able to get a drink of water) might have contributed to me not getting enough water. Also it is August in Las Vegas and people in general get dehydrated easier. So now I am very focused on getting my water intake. ....... So I'm to relax and take it easy, drink my water, and not do anything too strenuous. ...... My next ultrasound is a week from today on Monday the 28th. If things are back at normal levels he said I should be able to return to work. Although I don't think he fully understands what my job environment is like. He might classify me as "light duty" which doesn't exist in a kitchen, so in that case I'd still be out of work. I want to go back to work if my levels are normal because they don't pay me if I don't go to work. But I also don't want to get back in the same situation again. ....... What my doctor didn't tell me, which I found out on my own when I got home and started researching this, was that low amniotic fluid could be a sign of a problem with the baby. I don't know why he didn't tell me. Maybe he didn't want to worry me until he knew for sure. Maybe he wanted to rule out just not drinking enough water. But what I found in What To Expect When Expecting is that low amniotic fluid later in pregnancy (which is my case) could be a sign that the baby has digestive or kidney problems. Because a large amount of the amniotic fluid is made up of the baby's own urine. ....... Of course upon reading this I got very nervous and upset. So I called my doctor and asked for a referral to see a perinatologist (a high risk pregnancy doctor). He said that right now he has no reason to believe that there is a problem with the baby until he can rule out dehydration. And that I need to wait until after my ultrasound before he can give me a referral. ........ So now I'm just waiting until monday when I have my next ultrasound. And hopefully and prayerfully I was just dehydrated and my levels will be normal.

Ultrasound
Today I weighed 121. So it seems like weight is finally starting to stick. I'll get the official weight today when I see my doctor. Today is August 18th. That means it is exactly 2 months until my c-section. I had an ultrasound yesterday. The baby measured exactly what he should. And he weighs 3 and a half pounds. I'll get more details today from my doctor. oh, I almost passed out on the ultrasound table. I guess it is somewhat common. My friend Kimbi said she did pass out one time durring hers. See pregnant women are not supposed to lay flat on their backs becuase the weight of the baby cuts the circulation and makes it very difficult to breath. .... I got a few photos of the ultrasound. I think they are more difficult to see what everything is. The baby is bigger now so only a small portion will fit in the screen at a time. But I got a good one of his face that I will post. ....... Johan didn't get to go because he didn't get home from work until 3 am the night before and the appointment was at 8:30 am. .... I could see the baby move and I could feel it at the same time. He kicked the lady doing the ultrasound. His kicks are getting stronger and stronger. Sometimes they stop me in my tracks. And sometimes he likes to curl up on the lower part of my belly pushing against the oustide. It makes my belly look like a torpeedo. And feels so heavy like he's pulling me down. It's almost like I have to hold my belly up when he sits over there.
