30 week ultrasound photo I finally got around to adding a picture from my 30 week ultrasound. It is a close up of his face. You can see his nose, and right eye. If you look very closely you can see his mouth and a hand.
2006-08-30 (32 weeks)
32 weeks I'm 32 weeks today. Time is definitely going slower now that I'm home. I haven't left the house except for my doctor's appointment since Saturday. Yesterday I think I felt Braxton Hicks contractions. Those are "practice" contractions. What to Expect When Expecting says they can start anytime after 20 weeks. But this is the first time I think I felt one. .... Not much else is new. Jayme stopped by for a visit today. He brought me a decaf frapacchino. Exactly what I needed. I love frappachinos! From what I hear most of the people I invited to my get-together / shower in Monday plan on coming. This one is for all the people at work. I'm having another one given by the church group later in the month. I wanted to invite everyone from work. I've worked there 4 years and I know just about everyone on all the shifts. And I didn't want to exclude anyone. I handed out (or Melissa or Jayme did because I've been stuck at home), anyways, I handed out almost 60 invitations! WOW! And I gave a bunch to Johan to hand out to people he works with. People are going to be flowing out the doors. Good thing no one lives next door (they moved out last month), I hope things don't get too loud. But I'm expecting people to come in waves. First should be most of the day shift, then those who have to work the next morning would be gone by the time the swing shifters arrived. I hope I have enough food.

August 29th Nothing much new. Kinda have a boring life now that I just sit around all day and drink my water. Austin sleeps all day so he's no company. Even if I get him up to play with him, if I turn my back he'll go right back to bed. Lazy cat. ........ I've been getting the menu planned for the party on Monday. Here's what we'll be having (for all those who plan on attending). Pizza (ordering this from the local pizza place), chips and dip, rye bread dip (I'll buy the bread), hot artichoke dip, chocolate chip cookies, watermelon, pasta salad, zucchini bread, banana bread, cheese spread served with crackers. I plan on making everything myself. And just about everything can be made a head of time. I already made the cookie dough and scooped it and froze it. I plan on making the breads soon and freezing them too. The dips I'll make on Sunday, then the pasta salad I'll make on Monday. And a few people had offered to bring an item or two. ...... The nursery furniture still has that wood smell to it. It's not a bad smell, smells kinda country. Like freshly chopped wood. But I don't want all the baby's clothes to pick up that sent. Does anyone know any way to get rid of the wood sent besides just leaving the drawers open and letting it air out? If you do please let me know. ...... Tomorrow I'll be 32 weeks. Only 7 more until October 18th. Today I weighed 120.5 which is good. This is now 4 days in a row at 120. So it means that the weight is staying on. And it should stay easier now. Like my mother in law said, now that I'm not working I'll burn a lot less calories and I should start gaining more now. ...... The weather has been nice. Perfect Las Vegas summer days. Only getting about 103 or 105 or so. Nice in the shade. Too hot in the sun though. I was going to go sit outside and read but I procrastinated too long and now the sun has hit the patio. I guess I could sit on the bench on the other side of the yard. ..... Sorry if this is so boring to everyone.

Amniotic Fluid is up I had another ultrasound today. The good news is that my amniotic fluid has gone up. The bad news is that my doctor won't let me go back to work. So that is it. I'm now out of work until about April. But back to the good news. My measurement at my last appointment was 7 . And I do not know on what scale they use. Like I don't know 7 what? But it was 7. And now today it was 12. Although the ultrasound technician said I should be at 14, 12 was definitely good. This means that the sole reason for the low fluid was dehydration. And had there been a problem with the baby's kidneys then no amount of drinking water would of raised the number and the number would of been lower. And she said that she would of been able to see the kidneys backing up on the ultrasound. ...... Again I almost passed out on the ultrasound table. I hope that will be the last ultrasound, but I doubt it. Johan was able to go with me this time. I didn't get any new pictures. She was all business today trying to get the measurements as fast as possible so I could sit back up. ..... Joshua continues to grow and grow. Today he weighed in at 4 pounds 3 ounces. That means that in 11 days he has gained 11 ounces. An ounce a day. This means that if he continues to grow at an ounce a day he will weigh 7 pounds 6 ounces on October 18th.
