First Mothers Day

I got to celebrate my first mothers day yesterday. I felt a little weird about it since the baby isn't here yet but I suppose I'm still a mom. Chris was so sweet. He got me "She's Having a Baby" on DVD, a silver "mom" necklace and last but not least, the best gift ever. He wrote a letter to the baby that was really sweet and made me cry. He put it in a cute baby frame and everything. I did have to go see my mom yesterday, do laundry and vacuum but it was still a nice day.

We still haven't received the changing table and glider yet but it should be in this week. I don't think we are going to paint the baby's room. I'm not sure why. I finally live in a house that I own and that I'm able to paint but I would rather just use the wall stickers and be done with it. Life is funny that way. Once you are able to do something, you lose the desire to do it. I really need to start the hypnobabies class tonight, I've been putting it off for far too long now. Only 3 more months to go. Hard to believe. I'm feeling pretty good. My feet hurt and I feel huge but all in all I'm going great.

In the grove

Hello. I feel like I'm finally getting the hang of this pregnancy thing. I had a really nice weekend. Very relaxing. We got our garage door opener installed and finished unpacking everything. Our house feels so clean and organized, an expectant moms dream. Orange cat had his follow up vet appointment on Saturday and he is doing much better. He was having some trouble with his thyroid and had some kind of skin infection but again, he is doing much better. So now everyone is doing good. I did have trouble with maternity clothes but I suppose that is to be expected. My boobs are too big and my legs are too short. I feel as wide as I am tall right now. Kelly just brought me some organic stretch mark cream and oil and an organic toy for the baby. She's too nice. She saw my stretch marks so maybe she just felt bad for me. Joking.

The coolest thing happened last night. Chris felt the baby kick for the first time. He seems to only kick as I'm lying down to sleep or while I'm sleeping. He squirms throughout the day but Chris couldn't ever feel the squirming. So exciting. Chris ordered the glider/ottoman and changing table/book shelf online and we should be getting them in the next week or two. All we need now is the mattress for the crib, as far as furniture goes.

I'm really happy and feel really great. Everything is coming together and life seems to be as close to perfect as one can get. I hope you have a wonderful week.

So Happy

Chris, Roxy, Orange Cat, Gray Cat and I moved in to our brand new beautiful house over the weekend and we couldn't be happier. It's so clean and new and awesome. I'm so happy that we can give Nathan such a wonderful home. I can't believe we bought a house! Chris has been showing off his handy skills since we've moved in.  He has already installed our brand new washer and dryer, the ceiling fan for the living room and the light fixture in the kitchen (to replace the awful gold one in came with). It's so nice to have someone who is good with stuff like that.

The move was rough on my pregnant body. My back and legs ached but the worst was the pain and swelling in my feet and ankles. It's not like I lifted too much, just doing anything for any amount of time seems to hurt my body now. I started feeling the baby kick. It's usually at night when I'm falling asleep or when I wake up to pee. Chris felt him for the first time last week. It made him so happy.

Big change ahead

It's 3:04pm on Monday the 21st. I'm waiting for a call from the Title Company to see if I can close tomorrow. This is what makes buying a house stressful. The waiting. I wonder if it's like the car dealership, making you wait and wait in an effort to wear you down. You would think because I work at a Title Company I would get some special professional courtesy but I guess it doesn't work that way. Anyway, supposed to close on the house tomorrow and move on Saturday. Wish us luck!

I had a migraine on Friday. Only the second one I've ever had in my life. The last one was about 10 years ago. It started out with the visual aura and then my right hand and the right side of my face became numb. I also had a hard time talking, I couldn't get the correct sounds and words out. At this point I called the doctor but she just said go to the ER in case it's a stroke. I knew it wasn't a stroke. Doctors are absolutely no help at all. If she would have listened to my symptoms and not been so worried about me suing her she could have just told me migraines don't effect the fetus and if I go lye down in a dark quiet room everything would be fine. Which is what I did. The headache never got really bad and I slept though most of it anyway.

Other than that I'm doing really good. I have a lot more energy than I did when we moved last time at 10 weeks.
