Baby has arrived!

Almost 15 weeks!

Tomorrow I will be 15 weeks and I'm almost done wearing my regular pants. I've gotten away with wearing jeans as long as I add a rubberband around the button which wasn't terrible but wasn't the most comfortable thing to do.   So tomorrow I'm off to the Gap Outlet with Adrian to buy my new "prego" wardrobe.  I must admit it's pretty scary. I feel like I'm back to my toddler days wearing elastic on the waistband of everything.  Maybe I should just go all out and buy the shoes with velcro instead of shoe laces so I don't have to bend over to tie them.  Okay, so that might be a little too far, but funny nonetheless.

Heart Beat
Thursday we were able to hear the heart beat for the first time.  Now the pregnancy seems real.  Everything was great.  The heart beat was 156/minute.  I think I gained a few more pounds than I should have so now I'm watching things very closely.  Normally the appointments are four weeks apart but this time it was six weeks, which may have something to do with it.  It also may be due to my PCOS so I need to watch it.  But regardless, I want to stick as close to the norm as possible.  So things are looking pretty good.  Our next appointment is in four weeks.  We're thinking that we'll get the ultrasound in eight weeks and then we'll be able to know one or two and boy or girl!  That will be a big day!

End of the 1st Trimester

Oh, what a milestone!  My first trimester was over on Friday and I have had a such sense of relief.  I'm hoping that last Tuesday was the last time I will be "hugging" the toilet.

In only a few more days we will get to hear the heartbeat. I had a crazy dream that we went to the doctor's office and my entire extended family was there.  I was so happy to see them that when I went into the doctor's room she just asked if I had any questions, I said "no" and left.  It wasn't until I was driving home that I freaked out because I remembered that we didn't hear the heartbeat.  Then, we had to schedule another appointment, wait a week and go back in.  When we finally were able to hear it, we heard three "bumps" and that was it.  It was very strange but then again it was somewhat normal compared to my other dreams that I've been having.  Pregnancy really brings out one's creativity.

The Babys R Us Experience

Have you ever walked into a store and felt completely out of your league?  That's how I felt during my first Babys R Us experience last year when I was shopping for a shower gift.  Brian and I walked in and almost every woman in the store was either pregnant of had four kids following her.  Okay, so maybe not four kids but it was like kid mania! One lady was about ready to pop and her husband was following her with a "Got MILF?" t-shirt (which Brian thought was hysterical, of course).

Well today my experience was quite different.  Now I'm one of the hundreds of pregnant ladies that stepped foot into the store. No lie, it was like there was twenty other pregnant women in the store at the same time.  It was like they came out of the wood work!

It was a very productive experience thanks to Lori's expertise.  I now know that a good rocker is vital.  I also learned all about pack n plays and am starting to get an idea of how I want to decorate the nursery.  One thing I know for sure, if we do have a girl, there will be NO sign of princess stuff.  I've never been the princess type and if my little girl wants to ride horses she cannot be afraid of dirt.  (Am I right mom? Can I get an Amen? Okay, now I'm just being a dork but you get my point.)  I can't wait to go shopping and actually start buying.  Hopefully we'll find out the sex at the end of February or early March.  I guess we'll just have to wait and see.  What do you think we're having?  Let's have poll.  Write in the guestbook and we'll see who's right.
