Baby has arrived!

2006-11-01  (25 weeks)
25 Weeks OH MY!

Ok let me try this again..So I had this huge post all ready to go last night, I was just doing a final proof read, and then... That little window from microsoft popped up, saying something about the information you were working on may be lost.  Well my whole post dissapeared and the window closed...I was NOT impressed!

So we had another obgyn appointment yesterday. Things are going great, baby's heart rate was 150 and she's very active.  When the doctor was pushing on my belly to hear her heart beat she would kick at the microphone. It made my belly jiggle and I kept laughing, which made the doctor have to start all over again.

I got weighed again and didn't feel so bad like I did last time. I've only gained 1/2 a pound since the last time I was there (4 weeks ago).

I have to go for testing next week for gestational diabetes, a bacterial culture on my urine, and a complete blood count. I'll have to drink the dreaded super-sweet fluid for the gestation diabetes test...yuck!

Our family baby shower is comming up on Sunday, that should be fun. Chris and I should have done some baby registries somewhere so that people would know what we need... it seems like we might be ok on the furniture part, I think the only thing we need still is a swing, but I think one of my frineds might lend us one.But ewe pretty much need everything else!

Work is still crazy, I'm doing 6 days again this week, and they're making me come in on my day off (Sunday) to show the new manager how to do payroll and consolidations...I hope it only takes about an hour to do, I don't want to be stuck there on my shower day, especially since I have it booked off. And speaking of work...I should go get read for it! Gotta work another closing tonight.

Take care!!!!!!!

24 Weeks :)

I had people tell me before how fast the time goes when you're pregnant, but this feels like warp speed sometimes!!

Everything seems to be going pretty good with baby. Chris and I have yet to decide on a first name though.  We both liked Raina, Claudia, Sophia, and a few others...but we just can't seem to narrow it down.

We're having our family baby shower on November 5th. It's early we know, but we don't want family driving in from out of town when it's icy and snowing out. We just thought it would be a lot safer this way. We're going to have the friends shower closer to the due date, since friends are only travelling from within the city, so don't panick if you didn't get an invitation...it's comming later!!! The Showers are both going to be Jack and Jill, it didn't make sense to me for the men in my life not to come, I'm close with so many!

I've been working a lot lately...so much that I'm sick.  I've had a cold for over a week now! It's just starting to clear up now so that my nose isn't running every 2 minutes. But seriously, having a cold while you're pregnant is the most disgusting thing ever, you accidentally swallow a little phlem and it's off to te toilet to barf you go!  Cough a little too hard...and off to the toilet you go to barf.

I called in sick on tuesday and wednesday, I don't think they were very impressed with me. But my health and baby come before work anyday, so let them be mad all they want! We're getting a new manager next week too. It will be so much better with more staff there!!! Maybe I'll actually get a weekend off once in a while!  I miss Chris, I miss my family, and I really miss my friends. I feel like I LIVE AT WORK!

Chris and I really need to start making a list of things that we're going to need for the baby. The only things we have already are:

-Newborn diapers

-Plastic bottles

-A crib (Thanks Sue)

-A Baby Change table (Thanks Sue)

that's a pretty pathetic list so far , we'll have to work on that!

The baby is active and moving around in my belly. SOmetimes I can see her all curled up on one side which makes my belly look funny. It still feels a little strange to have a little person in there moving about and kicking away at my insides. It makes sleeping a little uncomfortable, but it's so great feeling baby move. OK this is weird though...does anyone else ever get kicked right in the crotch area? Cause that doesn't feel too nice! haha

I have an OBGYN appointment on Tuesday, I think they might do the glucose test. They have to check for gestational diabetes around the 25th week. I really hope everything is fine and i won't have to have insulin shots or anything. I'll keep you posted!

Time to get ready for work!!! Take care!

Daddy got kicked!

I had this fear that Chris would never feel her kicking him.  I thought that maybe I was too chunky to feel her movements on the outside of my tummy.

Until last night!!! We were laying in bed about to go to sleep and I could feel her kicking me a lot harder than usual, so I put my hand in that spot and waited, and sure enough I could feel her kicking! i got Chris to put his hand in the same spot and he felt her kick a few times too. It's so cool that he gets to share that experience with me too.

I'm doing ok, just having sciatica, which drives me bonkers after standing at work all day. Work has been insane on a daily basis and I'm starting to get irritated with the lack of employees. There's so much extra responsibilty I have to handle because there's no manager yet.  We have a lady lined up for the 30th, but our assistant is leaving to move to another city on the 27th.... which leaves us the same problem of being understaffed.

Things have got to get better, cause I can't be standing all day and not getting my breaks!

Soon enough I guess, and if things don'w improve I'll be going on maternity leave earlier than I anticipated.

New pics to come this weekend, my belly is HUGE!

Goodnight!!

22 pounds!!!!!????

Oh man I've gained SOO much weight!

I didn't think I was THAT much bigger, but holy crap!

I cried all the way home from the OBGYN office.

I'm only 21 weeks, just passed halfway to birth, I'm only supposed to gain between 25 and 35 pounds for the WHOLE pregnancy.

My doctor didn't seem concerned at all though, even though I'm freaking out.  I'm going to look like a whale by the end of all this!

GRRRRRR,

Heres where the weight comes from during pregnancy:

Increased Fluid Volume contributes about 2 to 3 pounds.
Increased Blood Volume contributes about  3 to 4 pounds.
Your baby will weigh 6 1/2 to 9 pounds.
The Placenta will weigh around  2 pounds.
Amniotic Fluid contributes around 2 pounds.
Enlargement of the breast will increase their weight 1 to 3 pounds.
Enlargement of the uterus increases its weight to around 2 pounds.
Finally, fat Stores and Muscle Development add roughly 4 to 8 pounds.

I swear I gained 10 pounds in my boobs alone LOL...

OK sorry, I'm done complaining now.
