Cramping

I suppose this is the infamous Braxton Hicks contractions that everyone keeps talking about.  I really don't know how to describe it properly, but I'll give it a try.

I'll be just fine one minute and the next is like an inner tube tightening around my waist. (Or rather the location where I used to have a waist). my tummy muscles all tighten up and so does my back.  It's not really painful, more uncomfortable than anything. The good news is that it's only once in a while and pretty sporatic, seems to happen more at night though.

I'm getting bigger and bigger and I sometimes imagine myself filling up like a balloon and bursting! I want my body back!!!! I can't wait to have this little one, even if she is going to need to eat from me every 2-3 hours.

I feel like a whale! I can't tie my own shoes, put socks on, lotion my feet, or put my pants on without panting like a rabid dog after. Only a few more weeks to go...

SCARED

I really thought that I was prepared for all this birthing stuff...But after watching "A Baby Story" and seeing this women in excruciating pain, I have to think this whole thing over.

Seriously, is it too late to decide not to have kids?

I don't want to be that screaming irritating women that swears at her partner while crushing his hand. But I also don't want an epidural. I suppose they can give me laughinf gas or something instead.

I'm SO ready to have her, but I don't think I'll ever be ready to actually give birth. Some days I just wish she would come out already, and other days I want her to stay in as long as she can so I don't have to give birth!

We have our first "birth and babies" class tomorrow, maybe they can help ease my mind a little.

Anyone else feeling this torn, or even afraid for that matter? I can't be the only one.

OWCH in the ribs and pelvis!

Raina has taken up permanent residence with her head right in my bladder/pelvis and her feet in my ribs. Sometimes she's pushing so hard with her feet I think she might actually come right out!!!!

My ribs are sore all the time, mostly on the right side, since that's where she seems to push the most. I think it's too early for her to be dropped, but I sometimes wonder if thats why there's so much pressure in my pelvis these days... When is it normal for the baby to drop, or engage or whatever you want ot call it? Sometimes I can hardly walk the pressure is so bad.

I thought I would have all kinds of fears about the labour but I'm calm and ready for it. I know it's going to hurt like nothing I've ever felt before, but I just want to hold her so badly that I don't care.  I still don't want an epidural, I'm undecided on whether I'll ask for something else or not. The laughing gas sounds like what I would go for.

I also don't think my belly button is ever going to pop out... I see all these cute pregnant ladies at work with the little 'smartie' in their tshirt...but as for me, the belly button is still a twighlight zone, I can't even see where it ends!

Jan 9th is my last day of work WOOHOO!!!! That will put me at 35 weeks, close enough to the end for my liking! Speaking of which, I have to get ready for work now.

Take Care!!!!
