I think I am about due for a growth spurt. I haven't gained any weight in the last 2 weeks. but, my appetite has increased in the last couple days. the heartburn is a little less, probably just allowing me to be more hungry. it's like the baby stopped pushing my stomach contents up my throat because s/he realized there is more food to be had if there is more room in there. s/he has been doing a lot of moving when I am hungry, so I am thinking s/he is ready for a growth spurt. it's his/her "feed me" dance in there!
I have been having some problems with my sacroilliac joint lately. a common symptom of pregnancy. I actually had problems with this prior to pregnancy, so it is just back and getting worse. my fabulous friend suggested a SI-Loc belt that helped her during her pregnancies. I will be picking one up very soon and hope it works just as good for me. (thank you, if you are reading this!) my hips still get really achy when I sleep, but I have started using a really fat and soft body pillow, which seems to help a bit. I have not been to the gym at all this week because I wake up with such sore legs. I figure, better to sleep an extra hour and rest my legs than to drag myself out of bed to get to the gym. I am sad, though, that I am missing my last yoga class this weekend. I will be heading to the cottage though so that is a good trade off. Maybe I will pack my yoga mat and do a routine while I am there. It can only do good things for my sacroilliac pain and discomfort!

dancing baby
week 26 has been pretty good. I got myself to the gym two times this week. I have not felt too tired, except Wednesday for some reason. I was in a great mood yesterday and had no real complaints. however, last night I started to get a headache, which I thought was from the weather. I went to bed early and had a good sleep. I didn't even get up once to pee!! amazing. I did wake up today with a headache still. I took two "fast acting" Tylenol at about 745 and I still have a headache now at 930. I also had a doozy of a bloody nose this morning in the shower. actually, I had one yesterday too before I went to the gym. It usually stops pretty quickly though so it's not so scary. I still have the pressure in my pubic bone area and on my upper inner thigh, especially on the right. I have become accustom to it though and it doesn't bother me too much. I did have to slow myself down on the treadmill yesterday. I am sure I will start slowing down overall soon enough!
the best parts of my day are when the baby starts doing crazy dance moves. It seems each morning when I get to work s/he starts doing flips and kicks and all sorts of crazy things. I just love it. it doesn't hurt at all yet because there is still enough room in there. I have heard all this movement can become somewhat painful as the baby grows and the room decreases. kicks to the spine? it doesn't sound great. I will enjoy the baby dance while I can. I love that I can really see him/her moving in there too. It's really funny though, each time I feel a kick I quickly look down and then it stops. It's like the baby is playing a game with me. "Ha ha, missed me again!". too cute. I try to get Jeff to see and feel it too, but he misses it too sometimes! It seems like there is more and more movement, or perhaps just that I am feeling it more as the baby grows. so there will be plenty of time for everyone to see and feel the movement!

split my pants! I just had to add this quick entry about my funny incident on Friday. I was leaving one appointment and getting into my car ready to head to the next (work appointments, that is). I sat down and was wondering what the heck I was sitting on. I looked, nothing on the seat. I looked again. nothing there. I feel my back pocket, nothing in there. finally I feel the butt of my pants and sure enough they had split! I guess I have gained some weight!! I had to cancel the next appointment because I had a short-ish shirt on that doesn't cover my butt. oh well, I got to go home a little early on a Friday! I then told some of my friends about my funny story....better to share this stuff than to be embarrassed about it! I even took a picture so Jeff could see what I looked like.

waddle waddle waddle
there is no denying it....there are moments in the day when I need to waddle! two days ago I started noticing some pressure on my pubic bone. now it feels like I pulled a muscle on my inner thighs. or something like the feeling of riding a horse! waddle waddle waddle I go. someone at work pointed it out to me, then the pain started, now I have given in to the waddle. It is less sore to walk with my legs slightly apart. I am only approaching week 26....what will I look like as the weeks progress?
I mentioned to Jeff that June 12th was not a good pregnancy day. he said you should write it down to remember, because he won't. I started the day great; went to the gym. did some walking on the treadmill. then I got to work and the heartburn started early. then I was starving. then more heartburn. then by the evening crazy bloating! I felt like I was going to pop and was really uncomfortable. other problems on this day were my very sore feet and my sore groin area and pubic bone. lovely! I was really waddling by the end of the day. how cute. I was on my feet a little more than usual and couldn't put them up on my desk because I had my grad student for the day. Oh, and my allergies decided to kick in so my eyes were really itchy and my nose was stuffed. I also had that almost sneezing feeling without acutally sneezing a bunch of times. when the actual sneeze came.....oh what a great feeling! the best part of the day was the end. I had called the Telehealth number and found out I could safely take Benedryl. so I popped one at 8:00pm and was in bed sound asleep by 9:15. sweet dreams to me!
