Happy End of School! The past few weeks have been crazy busy and have fortunately flown by...
My sister got married on the 8th. It was a little crazy (as weddings tend to be) but all turned out happy in the end :)
Manny hit 500 homeruns the night after we went to the game :)
The Celtics won the NBA championship last night (great year in Boston sports...)
My kids have officially been promoted :) although I have to be honest that I feel a bit more proud of myself for surviving the school year in one piece (more or less)
Our classroom pet Princess mysteriously passed away yesterday (on the day of promotion)... we decided it was a heart attack... i'm surprised she made it through the whole school year too...
There was of course drama and craziness at school right up to the end, but I think that this week is ending on a peaceful note for which I am very grateful... I am even more grateful that I'm not working summer school and therefore will not have to deal with some of the backlash from the drama that took place leading to a few of my students being asked to not come to school this week (hence why it's been peaceful)
I had a surprise baby shower last week at school... the kids were really into the baby games :) It was cute :)
Tony is doing great! He even more active now than he was last time I posted. He likes to use my bladder as a trampoline and tends to jab me in the ribs with some body part. He's definitely getting bigger as my tummy is growing and getting tighter every day (at least it feels that way). We are six weeks and counting to due date! I go to the doctor again next week and the week after that is our next sonogram to see how everything is looking going into month #9!
We have our "childbirth prep" class on the 11th. I'm looking into ideas to help Ed relax as he's starting to get nervous. I'm feeling better about a lot of the anxieties that I have/had after talking to Marsha (who had her adorable son Liam last summer) and Nicole (who is due a week after me). "What to expect when you're expecting" has been extremely helpful and informative - I need to pick up a copy of "What to expect in the first year". I'm just ready for him to be here!
We got a free diaper from Huggies in the mail and I think that I'm going to enlist the assistance of a stuffed animal to teach Ed how to change a diaper :) I know that this is not a difficult task (Ed has not mentioned anything about not doing diapers in months), but I think that it will be fun anyway :)
I have another week to work. My last day is June 27th! YAY!!! We have a busy week in the beginning of July - the 4th, Fran and Karen's engagement party, Tony's baby shower, and Liz and Eric's wedding - then it's home to MD to rest up and relax until Tony decides to come!
I can't believe it's only a few weeks away! Aside from the constant movement in my tummy, this is really just surreal! |
