Baby has arrived!

2008-04-10  (24 weeks)
It's almost Friday!

I hate standardized testing. The past 2 weeks we have spent doing the Maryland tests and the kids have been off the hook. Every single one of my students has gotten themselves suspended at least once in the past 2 weeks. I'm so tired. Thank god that the marking period ends tomorrow so therefore we do not have kids on Monday and Tuesday starts the final quarter of the year. I'm so excited for this year to be over with. It's truly years like the one I've had that cause good teachers to leave the profession. Me? I'm just having a baby so that will be "break" enough for me.

I can't believe we only have a few months left to get everything ready for the baby! The nursery is coming together. I'm forcing myself to actually complete the registry this week. Everything at the house is a bit chaotic, but it will come together once I get some actual energy (if I stop getting new students that may actually be a possibility). I was able to pack up all of my clothes that I can no longer wear over the weekend so I feel like I did accomplish something.

I am very hungry at the moment. Unfortunately with the chaos of my classroom, eating is not a priority and it creeps up on me at the end of the day. Time to hunt for food before heading to the metro!

Baseball season is finally here!!!

YAY!!! I'm so excited!!! Baseball is back!!! Little Tony has been bouncing around all day long. He got to listen to his first game last night and has been moving around ever since! And it wasn't even the Red Sox playing! The timing could not be better. This week are the state assessments (boo!) and my responsiblity was to plan "spirit days" to get the kids motivated to test for multiple hours everyday (woohoo!). So of course tomorrow is hat day and Wednesday is jersey day :) So exciting!!!

So I'm sitting in my classroom late trying to brainstorm some ideas for my sister's bridal shower. She's getting married on June 8th and the shower is Memorial Day weekend. I'm starting to collect some thoughts and ideas and being in the quiet school building has actually helped. It's amazing how well I can focus when no one else is here! Although I cannot go into too much detail as she reads this journal... Sorry Chelsea :)

I'm very much looking forward to this weekend! One of Ed's coworkers is giving us "all" of her baby stuff and I get to go pick it up this weekend! I asked Ed to find out what all she has so that I could register for whatever else we need and her response was something like "don't worry I have everything". It'll be like Christmas morning! I can't wait!

Oh well it is time for me to wander to the post office. I think I may finally have all of the paperwork in order to actually receive my degree! This of course means that pigs will be learning how to fly and hell is freezing over. I really hate Southern. I really hate their stupid registrar's office. I'm really glad that I live in Maryland otherwise I probably would have been arrested for assaulting someone. That being said I'm overnighting the final piece as soon as I get to the post office. Maybe I'll hit up Dunkin Donuts too before popping into the district to get Ed from class!

In need of more energy...

Things are a little hectic around here...

I went to the doctor on Wednesday and everything is going very well! Little Tony did not want to have his heartbeat checked and he kept moving around. He's taking after his Daddy! I've gained 8lbs this month! Yay! Next month is the glucose test so I need to make sure to lighten up on sweets and eat lots of proteins and veggies!

I'm feeling a lot more energetic although I'm still no where near "normal". I'm trying, but after school I just want to go to sleep! Getting up in the morning is not so much fun and I have to take my time which is a pain in the ass because I'm not a morning person as it is. I really need to start organizing things around the house, but unfortunately I'm still running short on the energy level which is getting very frustrating.

The other day Little Tony started moving like crazy and I had to take a seat for a few minutes. My kids decided that he was having a temper tantrum and started to sing to him. It was really cute. I'm hoping that this lasts through the end of the year. My class is growing almost weekly (damn IEP season!) so my fingers are crossed!

Ed is stressed about his COMPS next weekend, but after that is over he'll hopefully be able to relax a bit. He's currently locked up in the library studying - yes, Ed is actually studying.

Anywho, I'm going to try to get some stuff done before heading into the district for the evening.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!!!

This weekend we discovered that our son really enjoys going to church. This being Holy Week, we went to church a lot. Everytime I sat down in a pew he woke up and started dancing around. At Good Friday litergy he was really bouncing around and Ed got to feel him for the first time! This morning he was moving so much that he woke me up and I could feel him without pressing at all. PC was not cuddled up next to me otherwise it probably would have really freaked him out. Poor kitty!

Although I have to go back to work in the morning, it's 10pm and I'm still awake. I drank some coffee with dessert. Now I'm up and wired. Little Tony is up and wired, too.

Being wired has been quite productive this evening. I've gotten caught up on emails. I've created the official "Baby Update" email list. I've lesson planned for the week (well enough to get me started anyway). I've mentally put together my ideas for the nursery. I now have a vision - hooray!!! It's going to be a surprise for Ed so I can't post too much about it here until it's finished. I'm very excited. It's going to be awesome!!

Big news today: Tony has a godmother!!! We decided that today was the perfect day to call Danielle and let her in on our plans :) She was very excited and very much up for the job :) Yay!

I go to the doctor on Wednesday where they are going to start measuring my belly! Fun! I grew a lot this week so I need to find a camera to take some belly shots :)
