Baby has arrived!

Waiting...

So I went to the doctor earlier this week and was 1cm, 30%, and +3... this morning I lost my mucus plug and had a few more strong contractions... I've been feeling like crap and sleeping a lot... my friend nausea is back... grr... when I'm awake I have absolutely NO energy at all... it's soooo annoying... On the positive side I definitely think that he dropped more this week as my tummy is shaped a bit different now... he's still moving a lot, some pushing and rolling action especially when I'm on my side (which makes bedtime very interesting)...

There are still a few things that I need to get done so I'm hoping that I'm feeling up to it in the next few days... car seat... finish packing the hospital bag... I'm really just done with the whole being pregnant part of this adventure and am more than ready for the next step...

I go back to the doctor on Monday so we'll see if we've made any other progress then...

Fingers are crossed...

Full Term

We are officially 37 weeks and so I guess that means we are officially full term! Woah! This week has been quite busy. We've been up in Jersey for various functions. We had Fran and Karen's engagement party last weekend and the big baby shower. Both were a lot of fun. Danielle and her family did a great job with the baby shower. I was so impressed! You'd have thought that they did that all the time! She's going to be an awesome godmother :)Unfortunately it was soooooo humid and my feet decided that it was a good time to start swelling so I wasn't really feeling my best. What a pain in the neck! I've been able to relax a lot this week and keep my feet up so the swelling has gotten a little better. I went swimming earlier in the week which helped sooooo much. Although when I got out of the pool I definitely felt the extra weight that I've gained and it was very difficult to get my balance. I'm like a walking circus act. Haha. Anywho, I'm still trying to get all of the baby stuff organized and get thank you cards written and sent. I'm not going to pull a wedding thank you and not send them out for months! They must be sent before baby comes! This is my goal!

The last month is here!

I can't believe that today is July!

I'm enjoying the fact that I am no longer obligated by work and loving the fact that teaching gives me the opportunity to relax for a few weeks before Tony gets here. Last week it really hit me. My body just decided "ok you don't have to be 'on' for the kids anymore so it's time to focus on the fact you're very, very pregnant (despite not looking it)''. During the last few work days I got a lot of "wow you look tired" and "you're sluggish" and "hey, you're waddling" comments... what do you expect people?

I have my moody moments too. Sorry Ed. I really honestly can't help it.

At the doctor last week we found out that everything continues to be great. I've started to get headaches, but my blood pressure is still fine so it's nothing to worry about at this point. I'm going this week for the ultrasound to make sure that the little guy is ready for D-day! My appointment was supposed to be tomorrow, but unfortunately the doctor had a family emergency and had to cancel. Fortunately another doctor was able to squeeze me in on Thursday since I'll be out of town next week. I wasn't really feeling the whole 'ok let's be anxious for another week', but everything works out.

Ed is finishing up his job in DC this week and then we get to focus on really getting ready for the baby and the move. So much to do!

I'm looking forward to a busy, but fun week in Jersey (with a pit stop back in MD for our baby class).

Happy End of School!

The past few weeks have been crazy busy and have fortunately flown by...

My sister got married on the 8th. It was a little crazy (as weddings tend to be) but all turned out happy in the end :)

Manny hit 500 homeruns the night after we went to the game :)

The Celtics won the NBA championship last night (great year in Boston sports...)

My kids have officially been promoted :) although I have to be honest that I feel a bit more proud of myself for surviving the school year in one piece (more or less)

Our classroom pet Princess mysteriously passed away yesterday (on the day of promotion)... we decided it was a heart attack... i'm surprised she made it through the whole school year too...

There was of course drama and craziness at school right up to the end, but I think that this week is ending on a peaceful note for which I am very grateful... I am even more grateful that I'm not working summer school and therefore will not have to deal with some of the backlash from the drama that took place leading to a few of my students being asked to not come to school this week (hence why it's been peaceful)

I had a surprise baby shower last week at school... the kids were really into the baby games :) It was cute :)

Tony is doing great! He even more active now than he was last time I posted. He likes to use my bladder as a trampoline and tends to jab me in the ribs with some body part. He's definitely getting bigger as my tummy is growing and getting tighter every day (at least it feels that way). We are six weeks and counting to due date! I go to the doctor again next week and the week after that is our next sonogram to see how everything is looking going into month #9!

We have our "childbirth prep" class on the 11th. I'm looking into ideas to help Ed relax as he's starting to get nervous. I'm feeling better about a lot of the anxieties that I have/had after talking to Marsha (who had her adorable son Liam last summer) and Nicole (who is due a week after me). "What to expect when you're expecting" has been extremely helpful and informative - I need to pick up a copy of "What to expect in the first year". I'm just ready for him to be here!

We got a free diaper from Huggies in the mail and I think that I'm going to enlist the assistance of a stuffed animal to teach Ed how to change a diaper :) I know that this is not a difficult task (Ed has not mentioned anything about not doing diapers in months), but I think that it will be fun anyway :)

I have another week to work. My last day is June 27th! YAY!!! We have a busy week in the beginning of July - the 4th, Fran and Karen's engagement party, Tony's baby shower, and Liz and Eric's wedding - then it's home to MD to rest up and relax until Tony decides to come!

I can't believe it's only a few weeks away! Aside from the constant movement in my tummy, this is really just surreal!
