What I'm enjoying the most about my pregnancy so far is:
I enjoyed listening to the heart beat. I enjoy looking at my ultrasound picture and thinking about that little baby being inside of me. I enjoy feeling my belly and sometimes prodding it a little and knowing that my baby is squirming and moving around in there (even if I can't feel it yet). As painful as it is when there are pains in my lower belly, I enjoy the thought that it means my uterus is growing and so is my baby.
The strangest advice I've received is:
i haven't really received any strange advice.
Names that I've been thinking of:
Chris and I got the book "100,000"+ Baby Names and started looking through it, but we only got to the G's in boys' names and haven't gotten to the girls' names yet. Some of the boys' names we like include Brant, Branton, Brice, Brighton, Calib, Chad, Conroy, Craig, Dante, Darren, Daylan, Dean, Deron, Devin, Dustin, Eli, Elias, Elijah, Elisha, Elliott, Everette, Frederick, Gabriel, Galen. Some girls' names we like are Arielle, Carmella, Gabriella, and Lillian.
Girl or boy? I think you will be a:
boy
The old wives tales predict:
I am craving more sour than sweet... according to old wives tales, that means I am having a boy.
At my prenatal visit this month I found out that:
I had four visits this month, two were an ultrasound and blood sugar test.
At the first one, I found out that according to when my last period was and how big my uterus felt (when the doctor felt my belly) that i should've been 12w6d along, and I found out that everything seemed to be ok. I also found out that constipation is common during pregnancy and to be expecting it, and the doctor told me that the belly pains I'd been feeling were due to my uterus growing. He also gave us paperwork that gave a lot of info I didn't know... like that my feet may grow permanently during pregnancy and that my nails grow faster. It also had info about certain foods I can't eat some of which I didn't know about (e.g. deli meats, certain fish, and certain soft cheeses). I also found out what exercises are safe during pregnancy and which are not. And I found out about changing cat litter while I'm pregnant and how it is associated with the dangers of toxoplasmosis.
At my second visit, I had an ultrasound. I found out that I was actually only 10w6d along, that my baby was 4.32 cm, and that I was only having one baby (not twins).
My third visit was to check my blood sugar and I found out that it was normal and that I was not diabetic.
My fourth visit was a follow up to my first visit and my blood tests came up normal. I found out that I was not immune to toxoplasmosis. I also found out that I had lost a pound since the last visit, but that wasn't a big deal because I weigh enough to handle my nutritional needs and my baby's.
My hopes:
I am mostly hoping for a good pregnancy and to be as healthy as possible so as to improve my baby's chances of being healthy.
My fears:
I am afraid of doing something wrong during my pregnancy... I don't want to do anything that might harm the baby.
