Hello Everyone!

This week the baby is up to 2 pounds...roughly the same as a head of cauliflower!  Exciting, eh?  Ha ha!  I remember when Cletus was merely the size of a poppy seed, sigh.

Well on Friday I did the Glucose test to screen for Gestational Diabetes.  It was probably the worst test I've done yet - I had to drink this pure sugar orange drink, wait for an hour, and then have a bood test.  Talk about good times!  The drink itself wasn't too bad but I felt GROSS for the rest of the day.  Just didn't sit well!  I haven't heard any  news from it yet though...and I'm going to assume no news is good news. (Fingers Crossed.)

We got the crown moulding up in the baby's room yesterday (I say we, but really I mean Dan...I just held it in place .) so the room is really coming together!  (No pics of the crown moulding just yet, but the ones of the window trim & doors are up in the Photo Album.)

I got brave and posted a picture of my "naked belly" in the photo album if anyone wants to have a closer look!

I also got news that my friend Meghan is planing a shower for me and the girls in Toronto which should be fun!  That will be on Sunday June 8th.

Hello all!

This morning I had my 26 week check up and I'm happy to report that all is well!  I got to hear the heart beat again...best sound in the world.  (I guess that will change when I hear all the sounds Cletus makes when s/he is actually here!

My tummy is measuring 27cm, so it's 1cm (or 1 week) ahead, but it has been all along.  My weight is up 15 pounds from 5 weeks ago  putting me at a grand total weight gain of 23 pounds so far.  I shouldn't have peeked at the number...but I did.  Oh well at least I know there is a GREAT reason for it.

Tomorrow I will have my gestational diabetes test.  Apparently they make me drink some disgusting orange sugar drink, wait for an hour and then take blood.  Sounds like fun, eh?  I will let you know once I get results from that.

My next check up is June 2, after that it will be every 2 weeks and then every week for the last month.  This is getting exciting! (And real...)

Hello Everybody!

Happy Birthday Julie!!!

I hope everyone had a great week last week. 

I managed to get some more baby "stuff" this weekend - went to mom's for Julie's birthday dinner and she had another case of diapers for us, and Aunt Gina and Uncle Barrie dropped of a little sweater, booties and cap that Gina knitted.  They're SOOOOO cute.  And we also went to visit Grandma Downing, and she had a blanket that she knitted for Cletus!!  And...I also got my hand me down baby swing.

Such a spoiled little guy/girl.

We've booked our "Babymoon"...we're going away for the last weekend in June to Beaver Creek Resort in Gilmour, Ontario.  (I'm not sure where that is but it looks beautiful!)  It's actually one of the resorts we're considering for our (very small) wedding next summer, so they're arranging a property tour and some "menu tastings" for us.  I'm really, really looking forward to it in case you couldn't tell!

My next appointment is this coming Thursday, so check back for an update!  Until then...I'm out!

Hello Everyone and welcome to week 25!

I should let you all in on my new name for the baby until he/she arrives...it's Cletus the Fetus!  (Yes, it reminds me of The Simpsons too...but I think it's funny. )

Dan is still busy working away on the nursery - I have taken a couple more pictures and will post them later on when I'm at home.  (Yes I'm hard at work right now can't you tell!?!)  The trim is around the window and doorways and baseboards are pretty much in place.  Now it's just the crown moulding and then it will be ready to get cleaned up - curtains hung, shelves built, and all that other fun stuff!

Yesterday we went to Babies R Us and I picked out  the gliding rocking chair I want to get for feeding time with Cletus...it's a nice high backed one with a super soft fabric cushion on it.  We're going to get it when the room is ready to go!  Also while in Babies R Us, I settled a debate we'd been having.  "Someone" didn't believe me that the car seat has a base that stays hooked up, so you can take the seat inside places with you...and/or put it in the stroller.  Yep...I proved him wrong!  And the hand-me-down set we got does that too which is perfect!

The rest of the weekend was good too - I treated myself to a manicure and pedicure on Saturday which was fantastic.  I was supposed to get a massage too...but the therapist injured himself so he had to cancel.  I'm hoping to reschedule it for this weekend or next.  We spent lots of time at the dog park again - and Skota went swimming for the first time!!  We were so proud of our little puppy.

Julie tells me that she's taken over shower planning...and that it's going to include the guys as well so that should be a good time!  I'm looking forward to it!  I still dont' know where or when...I think I'm on a need to know basis with this one and that's fine by me!
