Baby has arrived!

He's Here!
I'm loving having my baby outside of me and getting to know him better day after day!  He is the sweetest baby ever and is such a calm awake baby.  As for the home birth I was able to have all but the actual delivery at home.  I was in labor for 34 hours and pushing for 3 hours and my midwives told me that they couldn't let me go for any longer because it was dangerous so we drove to the hospital and the doctor had to use the vacuum to get him out.  He was stuck at +2 to +3 station for about 2 hours and was too big to come out.  The doctor gave me an episiotomy and then the vacuum ripped me even farther so I had 4th degree tears and the doc had to do a bunch of reconstructive stitching.  I still didn't have any pain medication through any of the delivery and it really is true what they say about all the pain disapearing when you see your baby.  I'm really not trying to scare you because even with all of that I feel completely at peace with everything that happened.  It was the most wonderful experience of my life seeing him layed on my chest.  Everyone at the hospital was wonderful and everyone that was with me through the entire labor was with me for the delivery (3 midwives, mother-in-law, mother, sister-in-law, Adam, plus about 4 nurses and the doctor)  It was quite a crowd in the delivery room but I have to say, and it may sound corny, but having all those people was such a shot of positive energy around me.  Daniel was so big when he came out that I couldn't believe that he was inside me.   He was totally healthy and perfect in every way.  Adam has totally bonded to him and has completely fallen in love with his son in a way that I was hoping would happen but Adam was worried wouldn't.   The other day Adam did the cutest thing.  My midwife was here for a follow up visit and had weighed Daniel and so Adam took him to comfort him and we saw him coming down the hallway back toward us with Danny wrapped up in a blanket and then all of a sudden he turned around and went right back into the room.  I asked if everything was okay and he said that he had forgotten to put Daniel's diaper back on!  He was so conserned about getting him warm and comforted that he forgot to put the diaper on!  Daniel developed jaundice and so he's had to see his doctor a couple of times this week and I started crying when they had to take his blood from his heel.  The emotions I feel when I look at that little boy are so hard to express and I felt like a could have shoved that nurse to the floor.
