I JUST FELT THE BABY MOVE!!!

I've *thought* I felt it before, but this was it for sure!!!!  It just made my whole day.  I was in my car when I felt a really crazy vibrating feeling under the waistline of my pants, I thought to myself, 'What in the world is that?!' .... then I remembered I have a baby in there!!!  It lasted about 5-7 seconds or so.  IT. WAS. AWESOME!!!

Since I'm here I'll include info about today's Dr. appt.  We heard the heartbeat again, it was great!  Everything looked good, as far as I go too.  I gained 1 lb since last month, for a total of 2 lbs since the day I found out I was pregnant (2/28), so that's not bad at all.  Hopefully I can keep the gains under control.  I did have a trace of protein in my urine, so they just said to drink lots of water and it will be ok.

I talked to the Dr a little bit about doing a water birth at the hospital.  I'm still not sure about it.. I'll look more into it when we tour the hospital in a few months.  The thought of no epidural scares me, but I'd like to try if I'm not too chicken.

I go back next Wednesday for the bloodwork (genetic testing).  Then on June 11th we have the ultrasound!!!!!  Yippee!  Now, let's pray the baby will cooperate because it's all or nothing!  The ins will only pay for 1 ultrasound unless more are needed for medical reasons.

Stay tuned for my 15 week update to come tomorrow.

And it's over!!

My first trimester, that is!  It's official, yay!  I'm 14 weeks today and starting my 4th month already.  Wow.  Here's what our baby looks like: http://www.babycenter.com/fetal-development-images-14-weeks ... isn't that incredible!?  Every Thursday when I get the emails I sit and look at the picture and read about the baby's developments over and over - I'm just in such awe over the whole miracle of it.  I can't WAIT until our ultrasound next month.  I asked Brandon if I could be the only one to find out the sex, then I'd tell him for Fathers Day.  He wasn't game.  Not that I really would've wanted to do that anyway..

Here's what Baby Center had to say:  Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches about the size of a lemon and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces.

I had my first craving this week!  The very day that I felt better morning sickness wise, I was craving tacos (it felt so good to actually WANT food again!)... and that day happened to be Cinco De Mayo - so I made taco's for dinner!  Yum.

I've been nauseas off and on this week, but for the most part, I've felt great!!  I'm slowly getting energy back, but I get tired still in the afternoons.

And now for the "breaking" news.........  I'm offically showing!!  It happened almost overnight.  Over the last couple of weeks my jeans have started getting more snug, but still fit just fine.. I was even still using a belt.  I went to bed last night and when I put my jeans on this morning, I couldn't do up the button!  So, the Bella Band is my new best friend  :)  I put the first belly shot in the photo album, go check it out (you can also see my new haircut) - but don't poke fun!  :)  I'll be sure to take pics once a month to show off my growing belly/baby... probably around the time of each Dr appt, that way hopefully I'll remember.

Our next appointment is next Wed, the 14th.  I wish it could be an ultrasound.  I'll settle for hearing the heartbeat, though.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!

Oh my goodness... I never imagined feeling "normal" would feel this good!!  I forgot what that felt like.  Hopefully I'm not speaking too soon and this will last, but yesterday was my first non morning sickness, non tired day!!  I even cooked dinner - that says a lot!!

It's only 7am today, but so far I feel great!  I woke up starving as usual, so I ate but I don't feel sick so far.. YAY!!!

13 weeks!!

91 days down, 189 to go!  :)

I was wrong about being done with my first trimester.  According to baby center I still have 1 more week.  It says "This is the last week of your first trimester, and your risk of miscarriage is now much lower than earlier in pregnancy.  Next week marks the beginning of your second trimester, a time of relative comfort for many women who see early pregnancy symptoms such as morning sickness and fatigue subside."  So, we'll hold out even longer... and hopefully (still!) that will hold true!

My symptoms haven't changed.  Still can't eat much and nothing sounds good even when I'm hungry.  In fact, the more I think about what I want to eat (you know, the type of thing that would make a normal person even more hungry) the more nauseas I get.  Bummer.  I actually think I've been more tired this week than I have been in the last couple.  Wierd.  I even came home from work today and took a nap... too bad we have a stupid dog who barks every time the wind blows (I didn't sleep long!)  And my poor family - I'm so irritable/moody these days!  :(  It's like PMS x10 and 24 hours a day.  No fun.

My weekly baby center email today brought me to tears.  My baby looks like a real baby now!!  You can see it for yourself at http://www.babycenter.com/fetal-development-images-13-weeks.  It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.  It's May now, so I can officially say we'll know what we're having next month!!  WooHoo!!

The pants that were getting too big for me just 2 months ago are now getting pretty snug.  I'm not ready for maternity clothes yet and I think I'm the only one who knows of the snugness going on.. but it won't be long until I break out those bella bands I bought.  THEN I can start posting belly shots!  Won't that be fun ... for me and you lucky viewers!  :)

OH!  I think I mentioned last week that I thought I had felt the baby move but I wasn't counting it as official because it's still so early.  Well, I swear I've had that same little "muscle spasm" twice this week!!  So....  who knows.. maybe this just confirms my suspicion that I'm having a boy  :)
