19 Weeks - It's a Girl!

Well everyone,

Last Saturday Khari and I went to a lovely ultrasound appointment where we actually got a DVD of our little one moving around in there!  It was absolutely amazing and it bought tears to our eyes and WIDE GRINS to our faces.  We actually found out what we were having that day...as I was laying there, Khari was able to determine the sex of the baby right away along with the ultrasound technician.  Me, myself was very confused!  I couldn't tell!!  But I am happy to report that we are having a little baby girl!  That's right, a Lil' Nia Chari Mott is on the way and we couldn't be more THRILLED and EXCITED.  We will be bringing the FIRST girl grandchild to the Mott family that has a history of Boys, Boys, BOYS!  Us, Leake's have plenty of girls in the family so Nia will fit right in!  She is going to be a spoiled little baby!  WE can't WAIT to get started and meet her!  But of course we have a FEW more months to go! LOL

On aanother note...I was very sick last night and threw up this morning!  I think lil' Nia likes to act up on Tuesdays, because I threw up last Tuesday too.  I think Nia is going to be  born on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 on the day that Barack Obama is elected as the first black President of the United States.  What a momentous time in history that will be for the Mott/Leake/Register Family and for America!!

I am making it.  Can't wait for the stomach to get bigger!! :)

17 weeks and going strong!???

Well...I thought I was getting better, but once again I was wrong.  After a lovely holiday bbq at Corey's on Sunday...and a well-rested day off on Monday, I found myself laying in bed all of Memorial Day trying to prevent myself from vomitting and feeling much more pain.  I couldn't even go outside and enjoy the unusually warm weather that South Jersey had to offer.  Oh well...and as for this morning back to work...I tried to eat 2 pieces of toast and lemonade for breakfast...and ended up throwing that all up before 10 am.  But luckily Khari took me to lunch and I was able to eat half of a bbq baked potato!  I tell you that Baby Mott must like some bbq!

Tonight Khari and I will be attending a breastfeeding seminar at Babies R Us...so that is something to look forward to.  And we find out the sex of the baby on Saturday, June 7th.  So there are some positive things happening with the pregnancy!  Well, keep us in your prayers!!

Morning Sickness Strikes Again!

5-12-08

Well as most of you know I have been sick since I was 7 weeks along...however, for the past 2 weeks as I began to enter the my "beloved" 2nd trimester, I started to feel a burst of energy and the morning sickness seemed to subside...Here I was thinking, I might actually be getting better!  Praise God!  The last time I had thrown up was last Sunday during a "tooth-brushing" episode right before church...

Well, boy was I wrong!  Yesterday was my first "unofficial" Mother's Day!  Yep, that's right...I guess I am a mother, I am responsible for this little life that is growing inside of me!  What an exciting concept...I woke up sick on Sunday morning but I was DETERMINED to get to church to hear the Mother's Day message, it was after all, my first "unofficial" Mother's Day and I owed it to God who has blessed Khari and I with this miracle to be there to hear the word!

Needless to say I was sick all day long, just pestered by a bit of nausea but I was able to eat small bird-like portions at various sittings.  I enjoyed the Mother's Day lunch that Corey created for me and then went on to my in-laws where my Hubby and Pops-In-Law grilled steaks, potatoes, corn and other veggies for me and Moms-In-Law.  I received a beautiful card from my nephew TJ for Mother's Day and a beautiful Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy and Slippers set from the In-laws.  My hubby still has yet to go to the mall for that special gift he claims to have in store for me :)

So we finally made it home about 9:15 pm that night, I napped and finished my homework and slept through the night - well almost.  I woke up periodically to go to the restroom and discover that I had a slight headache that would still be present in the morning...

As I got up for work this morning, I still felt the presence of nausea once again...but I trucked along thinking that some breakfast would solve it all.  Well I get in the car and start my morning routine of driving and calling my Mother.  As soon as my Mom said hello, I felt it come on!  I told my Mom, "I have to call you back, I think I'm going to throw up!"  And with that I quickly pulled over, and opened the car door and commenced to throwing up for the next couple of minutes.  Yes, I had succummbed to the morning sickness again.  Afterwards I had to go back home, ask Khari to help me get some towels to clean myself up and then start off to work, once again.  It's been a long day today, and I think it's going to be a loooonger pregnancy! LOL

It's funny how I can laugh at this now...until the next attack..oh and by the way, the slight headache is STILL here.
