The baby room
So, a week or so ago, Adam and I were at Lowes getting a putty knife to remove the old ugly border in the baby's room, and I made him stop to look at the special order wallpaper. Well we found the most perfect border to put up. Pink Elephants! It's so cute. The last 2 evenings, my friend, who can sew, and I went  to Joann's to collect all the fabric and things needed to make all the stuff for the nursery bedding. We're going to be making: 2 crib sheets, dust ruffle, crib bumpers, organizer thingy, a quilt and a matching pillow. The color scheme for the bedding is mostly lavender/purple with some green and pink that matches the paint and wallpaper. I'm getting really excited about the whole thing. I think next week we'll start sewing things. I'll post some pics of the room after the wallpaper is hung.

I guess I have neglected to mention that we're having a little girl. The name we've chosen is Evelyn Claire. I know a little old fashion but that's kind of how Adam and I are.

I can't believe that already past the halfway mark. This pregnancy is moving so fast now. At this rate October will be here next week. I'm starting to feel really unprepared. At least I have a very supportive partner in all this.

The trouble with Elephants
Today I went fabric shopping with my friend Michelle. She has agreed to help me sew all the bedding for the baby's room to help save money. I chose the theme of elephants. Well apparently there is no material with an elephant theme. All you find with elephants is noah's ark, the circus, or the jungle. It's become a little frustrating. I guess I should explain why I want elephants so bad. When I was a baby my mom made me a giant pink elephant. I named him Heavy. I used him a  pillow and he was my best friend,  I would cry on him when I got into trouble and so on. Well I just got Heavy out of storage and the idea came to me. I thought it would be unique and gender neutral. Well I was right about the uniqueness, there is nothing for just elephants. So now I think  I'm going to make everything in plan material and just fill the room with elephant prints and make them their own Heavy.

Sorry...
Sorry haven't been really keeping up my blog. I just tend to forget about it. So this is what's happened in the last 5 weeks. I had a dr appt during week 12 and got to hear the heart beat, and we discussed our options for preventing another miscarriage. Then I had another appt last monday where I had to take my first glucose test. We also set up 2 ultrasounds, one for today and one for june 03. Today's is to check out my cervix, see if there is anything up. If so, I'll most likely be having surgery later this week. Don't worry it's nothing major, just one stitch in my cervix to keep it closed.  After my appt last week I recieved a call saying I failed my glucose test. So yesterday I had to take a 3 hour blood test. I just got a call saying I did fine on my 3 hour test and don't have diabetes. I wasn't really worried about it since it's easily treatable with diet and exercise. That's all that's been going on. So I'll fill you on the rest after this afternoon.

Eleven Weeks

Not much to report this week. Just the usual sleepiness and lack of motivation. I'm really starting to show now though. Adam is convinced we're having twins because I've gotten big so quick. I keep telling him I've just gained weight too fast.  Lisa (Adam's step-mom) keeps saying the same thing. That I'm big for how far along I really am. It's a little unsettling. Our first ultra sound only showed one baby, so that's what I'm going with. Another thing I've had to start dealing with is back pain. I had hurt my back a long time ago and every now and then, I'll get sciatica pain down my left leg. Well now it's sort of constant. I'm also starting to get headaches, and I can't take anything for either of my new pains except tylenol, which doesn't even work.  Just a little frustrating.  I almost forgot...I got to buy my first item for this pregnancy. I got a maternity pillow. It works wonders. It's a "c" shaped pillow that goes under your neck
