Baby has arrived!

2008-06-16  (baby has arrived)
6/16/07 - 6 Month Update

Jules is now 17.6 lbs and 27 1/2 inches.  Her check-up went well and she got a clean bill of health (although I did get yelled at for giving her meatballs, I forgot they have eggs in them..oops).  Her bottom two teeth have come in and she loves to show them off with her "scrunchy-nose smile" she does.

She is starting to pull up on things (giving me an occasional heart attack) and has managed to figure out how to sit up from a laying down position (making bathtime fun).  She loves to stand up now and dance with daddy.  Don't think she is going to crawl (normally anyway) but she has figured out how to go from sitting to her hands and feet, and she can get around a bit like that.

She has also developed a terrible fear of the vacuum.  We vacuum A LOT (with the two dogs its at least twice a week) and she either sat and watched or played with some toy on the floor but now she shakes and flaps her arms, and panics like she can't breathe (especially if its coming at her).  I knew kids get scared of the vacuum, just didn't think it could happen this early.

I am posting some new pics asap.

5/14/07 - 5 Month Update

Jules is now 16 pounds 7 ounces and 26 1/4 inches long.

She has managed to figure out her own way of "crawling"  since she can't stand being on her tummy.  Instead she lies on her back with her knees bent and her hands by her head and shoves herself along.  Sort of a cross between doing a bridge and the crabwalk.  The downfall, she can't see where she is going and bumps her head often (and I imagine she will give herself a nice bald spot too).

She has started to try some foods.  Her taste buds are a little unusual, so far her favorite is peas.  She loves all the veggies we have given her: califlower, avocado (if that is even considered a veggie?), cucumbers, tomato, brocolli and potatoes.  She is not as fond of fruits: she won't eat pears, she will eat one or two bites of apples, but she will eat fresh bananas and strawberries.  She has also started drinking water out of a sippy cup.

Jules was baptized on May 4th with Ryan (Matty's cousin) and Allison (Matty's sister) as the god parents.  I put some pics up.

4/16/07 - 4 Month Check-up

Jules is doing very well... here are her new stats: She weighs 15 pounds and 3 ounces.  And she is 25 3/4 inches tall.

We have discovered that she has a "Stork Bite" on the back of her head, a type of birthmark that goes away in time.

She is sitting on her own now and is working hard to get enough stomache muscles to sit up.   She has definitly found her voice and is finally starting to add some nicer sounds to her repertoire of yells.

Against the pediatricians advice we gave her some apple baby food yesterday which she so loved.   We didn't want to giver her too much so when we stopped she threw a mini fit.  She is going to be a great eater.

3/20/08 - Update and New pics

I have posted some newer pics of Jules, I will have to take some more recent ones of all her new skills.

She has rolled from stomache to back now although not to happy laying down unless she is sleeping so she doesn't do it often (she was rolling from her back to her from in the hospital so that was never a problem for her).  She can sit with out someone holding her, although she does still fall over a lot.  And she now really likes to stand but she tires easily and needs someone to hold her hands.

I also posted some of the pictures from her birth that I finally got.  I have more for anyone really wanting to see them.  They may be a little much for some people, so if your one of them, don't look at the page before the more recent one.
