Mommyhood!!! Okay so Aiden is now a little over 3 weeks old and man has he grown and changed in this little bit of time. He is definately a little boy...passing gas all day long...lol. I have been an emotional wreck!!! I am praying that PPD is not in my future. But the first two weeks home were really HARD!!! Besides the fact that I was miserably uncomfortable and in pain. I had to take car eof myself for the most part all day long. Both the grandmas were here to help in the evening and they have been WONDERFUL (Lubby just left town for the second time on Friday)!!!! But how on earth am I suppose to take care of a baby all night all while trying not to rip my stiches out, then take care of him all day, cook for myself and sometimes cook for Paul as well. And when I cooked for him he would not even say thank you!!!! UGH!!! I was feeling pretty overwhelmed, alone and underappreciated. Is this how it is always going to be?
I love my son to death and love sleeping with him (which is going to be ending this week...lol...or at least that is what I keep telling myself), listening to him breath, smelling him, talking to him, observing his multiple silly faces, and the list just goes on and on. He is truely a blessing and I cant imagine my life without him.
We had the newborn photoshoot last Tuesday and that was too much fun. He did naked pictures, pictures with me, pictures with daddy and pictures by himself. His umbilical stump fell off at the shoot!!!! I was so worried about it falling off because it had not yet fallen off and it had an odor (no one told us to clean it with alcohol). But it finally fell off and I was too excited. Okay he is crying so I will have to finish later....
2008-09-06 (baby has arrived)
On more thing they told me that Aiden was 8 pounds but then on Sunday morning at 1:30 am when they weighted him he was 8pounds 8 ounces. I thought to myself that there was no way that he could GAIN a half a pound in 2 days!!! I mean I was expecting him to loose a little weight because that is what the midwife and everyone else told me. Then on Sunday night when they weighted him again he was 8 pounds 10 ounces. The nurse said that most likely he was 9 pounds when he was born not 8 and that they didnt calibrate the scale in the recovery room correctly. She said that their scale is sometimes wrong. So he was actually NOT 8lbs when he was born but 9lbs!!!! I had a 9 pound baby!!!!! I could not believe it.
I had to write that before I forgot to mention it...lol.
