Thumper As I stated in my last entry...I know that what I am feeling is Aiden moving inside of me. He is active in the evening and around 10am. But then pretty cool for the rest of the day. He has been given the name Thumper by me because that is what him moving feels like to me. Like he is thumping me from the inside. So I don't know if it is a foot or what that is moving but SOMETHING is moving and I am POSITIVE that it is NOT gas.
I am sure that I mentioned before that there is a name war going on with the Grandmothers. Well not really a war but everyone is trying to figure out what they want to be called. My mother is the only one taking this to the extreme (as she does with everything) and having a naming contest for herself. The winner will be announced at the baby shower and will get some kind of prize...lol. Anywho, BD's mother stated at the beginning of February that she wanted to be called Pookie (don't remember why but that is what she wanted). BD was not too excited about that name but that is what it was going to be. So she sends me an email last night stating that she had a revelation and decided that she wants to be called Lubby instead. Which I REALLY like. It just sounds like something you would call a Grandparent. BD stated that that was his Grandfather's nickname (his mothers father)...which makes even more sense for her to be called that for me, but he was not too sure. Oh well...we will see what Aiden thinks...lol. I need to take a nap because I have a headache...woke up with it this morning. And it may have something to do with the fact that I didn't go to bed until like 1am. I know...shame on me!!!

99.9% sure... ...That I have felt Aiden moving. I mean it is very subtle but I know it is not gas. I tis like someone is thumping me from the inside...it is kinda cute especially since it does not hurt and I KNOW that when June comes he is going to be kicking my ass!!!!!
So on Wednesday I FINALLY found my spot that would let me sleep most of the night without waking up to back pain. The only problem is that I LOST IT LAST NIGHT!!!!!!! UGh...so now I am sitting up in my bed with a heat pack o my back. No fun!! Another thing that is no fun is sleeping ALONE!!!! BD is up until like 3 am most nights "working". But i know that he is in there on his blog...on someone else's blog...or playing with his new toy. So I am sleeping alone most of the night. NO FUN!!!
My moms birthday was yesterday and we had a little cook out at her house. It was fun. Me, BD, my cousin Kelea that is a sophomore at Spelman, and Pac went. I was stading up a lot of the time preparing something so my thighs were a little sore by the end of the evening but other than that it was a great time. I think that she enjoyed it as well. BD has not yet sent me any pictures from last night (even though he was up at 3am still playing with them) so I don't have one to share yet. But I will add one to the gallery as soon as I get one.
Oh I almost forgot...I went shopping for maternity clothes on Friday!!!! I got a lot of gift cards from my birthday and I went and used them ALL!!! I HATE trying on clothes and since every piece of clothing its different when you are pregnant, I had to try them ALL on...NO FUN!!! But the outcome was great. I got some casual clothes that I can wear on my vacation in a little over a week, and I got a bunch of dresses that I can wear for work. I tried to get some pants but I am too darn tall and they don't carry long dress pants. So I suggested that they get some in stock for us women over 5ft6in. And when I made my last stop at Macy's I could NOT resist buying Aiden some cute little onesies. I think that I ended up getting like 6 of them but only 2 are newborn. After reading that newborn was up to 8lbs I had to exchange most of the ones that I had purchased for 3month size. I mean the likelyhood that he will be born under 7lbs is slim to none so he will hit that 8lbs within a couple weeks. I know now that every time I go somewhere that sells baby clothes I am going to be buying him stuff...lol. BD wanted to act like I was crazy for getting some stuff but I know he thought that they were too cute....and so tiny...lol. He said that Aiden is going to have a full wardrobe y the time he is born...OF COURSE HE IS!!!!!
Oh and we are going to have a contest to see who gets to dress him for his first picture at the hospital. He is going to get something and I am going to get something. Then we will decide which is cuter....Youo\ KNOW that I am going to win...lol. Well I am hungry so until next time!!!!!

Update... Well I had a great time at my birthday dinner last week. And BD got me the Tiffany's bracelet that I wanted so very badly. I have always wanted a charm bracelet so now I have one started...my next charm is either this mom locket or the it's a boy charm with Aiden's birthday engraved on the back. Everyone was SHOCKED when we told them that it was a boy...because we all thought that it was going to be a girl. BD's grandmother seemed disappointed but I am sure that she will come around. We will shoot for a girl next time!!!! (I attached a picture of BD and I from my birthday dinner)
What is crazy is that on Friday night a tornado ripped through downtown Atlanta. I mean it must have went right past us because we live right on the outskirts of Atlanta. I mean the damage to downtown is amazing...I have never heard of a tornado going through a downtown area of a major city. Thank God no one was injured.
I bought a car this past weekend as well...a 2006 GMC Envoy...I have my version of a mommymobile...lol. I like it...I have been driving it since my birthday and finally finished all the paperwork today. I hate the process of buying a car. But probably not as much as I am going to hate the process of refinancing my house next month!!!!!
Other than that no eventful news...back still hurts at night...still not sleeping all the way through the night. Oh and I don't think that I have felt the baby move yet but I am not 100% sure of that. Sometimes I think that it is him but then it is gas (which I have a lot of lately...what is up with THAT!!!!). Other times it feels like a flutter and I think that may ACTUALLY be him. I cant wait until around 20 weeks when I KNOW it will be him moving. Gotta go to bed...early morning conference call.

IT'S A BOY!!!!! I am happy to say that we will be welcoming a bouncing baby boy this summer!!! I am so excited that I almost jumped off the table when I was getting the ultrasound...lol. His name will be Aiden Joseph Douglass and I could not be happier.
We just got home from my birthday dinner and making the big announcement. Everyone is so excited!!!!! BD's grandmother was a little disappointed ( I could hear it in her voice, but she will come around)...lol.
I also went and looked at cars today...I think that I have settled on the GMC Envoy. I got to take one for 24 hours to see if I really like it and I really do. I have to do a little research to make sure that I am getting a good deal. But BD's Dad is good friends with the owner of the dealership so maybe I will get even a better deal than what I got quoted today. We will see...well i am REALLY tired and have to get up early tomorrow morning. So I have attached a picture of the baby that we got yesterday.
