Baby Shower!!!!!! Okay so my first baby shower was on Saturday and let me tell you...it was a PARTY!!!! I mean it was exactly what I wanted for it to be. It was laid back without a lot of baby being stuffed down your throat. We had about 50 people come...yes I said 50!!! And I think 18-20 of them were from out of town. I had the best time. It was great to spend time with my friends, whom I don't get to see often because they all live in other states. I got to see my FAVORITE Aunt Debbie and cried when she arrived because it had been 5 years since the last time I saw here. The day was very emotional but I kept the crying jags down to only 2...lol.
The bartender was a HUGE hit and there were a bunch of men there....which was great because that put Paul at ease...lol. His two friends Rodney and Jeno (I am sure I spelled that wrong) came down and Paul was like a kid again. I know that he was too happy to have some of his childhood friends there. And they are the nicest guys. They stayed at the house...well it seemed like EVERYONE stayed at the house...lol. Aiden got two truck loads of gifts that took almost an hour and a half to open. It was great. The only big stuff that we didnt get was the stroller, car seat, carrier, high chair and mattress for the crib. But we got a bunch of gift cards that we will use to get bottles and little stuff like that. We got TONS of diapers (thank God) and lots more clothes...lol.
The other hit of the shower was the cake!!!! OMG...it was SOOOOO good. Everyone wanted to know who made it. It was gone within 3 minutes!!!!! It was beautiful...it looked just like the inside of the invitation where Aiden's name is...mom did a great job on that one.
Speaking of my mother...she went all out. First of all it was held in her newly redecorated house. I would have been freaking out with 50 people around my new furniture and nice rugs (I think the martinis helped keep her distracted...lol). Then there were the numerous gifts that she got Aiden. I mean that I DID NOT expect because I knew that she was going to get the nursery furniture later in the month. Well she found a piggy bank that is going to be perfect in his room, a cute ceramic tooth to hold Aiden's first teeth...AND she bought the furniture already and it will be ready for pick up this week!!!! This is all on top of the fact that she footed the bill for a lot of the shower stuff. My mom is the BEST!!!!!!! And she was on GREAT behavior...lol...I have to admit that I was a little worried due to the martini on demand thing that we had going on...lol.
I got to spend a lot of time with my little butterball Garyson and his mommy Natalia. (I put a couple pictures in the photo album that Paul took when they first came to the house this weekend). We have been friends since she was 1 month old (and I was 1 year old) and it is so amazing that our children will get to grow up the same way. Garyson is GORGEOUS and I didnt want to ever put him down. But when we were in the car he would scream bloody murder...to the point where I was crying because I felt to helpless. I mean it was so sad (must be the hormones...lol). Natalia laughed at me...and of course Paul told me to get use to it because he swears that all Aiden is going to do is cry.
I dont think that anyone that was coming to the shower expected what they got. We got so many comments on how much fun it was. Oh and did I mention that my fabulous Godfather Keith got me the second charm for my Tiffany's charm bracelet...it says It's a Boy!!!! And I will get Aiden's birthday engraved on it right after he is born. I already put it on the bracelet and it looks great. When I went into Tiffany's yesterday I noticed that they had a Grandmother charm...I am going to have to get it for my mom as a token of our appreciation for the baby shower. We are trying to think of what we can get Kimmy. No ideas yet. She gave us the thank you cards that day of the shower!!!! I was not expecting those...and she did them in 4 different colors!!! They are so nice.
I am having a second baby shower on August 2nd and that one is a girlie affair. LaVerne (the person throwing the event) said that they are going to go together to get my car seat and stroller!!!!! That would be fabulous!!!!! I cant wait...hopefully Aiden will be able to wait...lol.
Well I am home sick today. I have not had a voice all weekend due to my allergies and now my throat is raw because I have been trying to talk anyway. So I am going to be mute all day to hopefully let it heal. I will blog about fathers day when I wake from my nap...oh and I will add pictures from the shower whenever Paul gets around to editing all 800 of them...it may take a while...lol.

Introducing..... Here is the first good picture of Aiden!!! The 3D ultrasound was great!!! He was not cooperating very well but that is because he was sleep. We tried to wake him up and he moved a little (his arm was in front of his face almost the whole time). Wouldn't you know that as soon as we left the ultrasound place he was moving like a mad man!! I almost wanted to go back to see if we could get some more pictures of him. But we got a bunch of great ones. I honestly don't know who he looks like. He kinda has Paul's nose but then kinda he doesn't. It looks like he has Pau'ls top lip and my bottom lip...lol. But I guess we will have to wait another 6-10 weeks to see him first hand.
We also went to dinner tonight with Raaj...my grown little brother. You can see pictures of that in the gallery. I was happy to see him and he seems very excited about the fact that he will be going to the hospital to see the baby that is in my stomach...lol. Well I am beyond tired right now and barely keeping my eyes open. I said that I was going to bed about 45 minutes ago. So now I am REALLY going to bed.

3D ultrasound day!!!! Okay so I have survived the first two days of this busy week and now I have a day that I can enjoy. We are going to get our second 3D ultrasound today at 1pm and I am super anxious...I finally get to see what this little guy might look like. How cool is that!!!! My little brother (who is not little anymore since he turned 18 last week) gets in town at around 4:30pm and I am going to pick him up from the airport...then we are going to have Mexican...both of our favorite!!!! Oh and did I mention that before I go and get him I have to make some cup cakes!!!
Then tomorrow people start coming in town and I am so excited to see everyone. Natalia and her gorgeous son get here tomorrow evening and my Aunt Debbie gets here then too...I have not seen her in like 5 years!!!! Then the rest of my friends get here Friday early afternoon and night. Of course Jewel is the one that has to get here at like 11pm!!!!
Don't know if my painting party is going to happen which is kinda depressing because if it does not happen I don't know when this painting is going to get done. I guess I could ask mom to come over so she and Paul can do it. I was just hoping that Kimmy would help with the placement since she is so much more visual than I am. We will see. I will have pictures to upload later and I probably wont post again until after the shower...too much to do and what seems like not enough time to get it done!!!!
Baby shower is in 3 days and counting...oh and I have an appointment with a lactation specialist Saturday morning. I am so concerned about not being able to breast feed. Hopefully she will give me some hope!!!!!

Back from Vacay!!! So we got back from Hilton Head last night. It was a nice long 7 day vacation that was very overdue. I hot some sun...despite the SPF 45 and 60 that I was wearing. Lounged by the pool at the house and went to the beach a couple times. As I said before I am kinda a beach snob but it was cleaner than it was last year and that may have something to do with the fact that last year it was hurricane like weather going on and thins year it only rained once...at night.
So it was nice to hang out with his family and work a little at the same time. Of course no vacation would be complete with a little relationship tension. But I think that we have ironed it out.
Anyhoo...this is going to be a BUSY week!!!! I have meetings both Monday and Tuesday night. Then Wednesday we are doing the 3D ultrasound, Raaj is coming to town so I have to make cupcakes, and then we will go to dinner that night. Thursday we were suppose to get the house cleaned but I am going to postpone that a week or two because the room will not be painted yet. So that day i will have a break...oh but my Aunt Debbie (who is the BEST) gets here that night. Then everyone else gets here on Friday...starting with Tonya at like 2pm. Whew!!!!
But I am SO EXCITED!!!! The baby shower is on SATURDAY!!!! And I went to my moms house last night to see what the house looks like since she redecorated most of the second floor. And it looks fabulous!!! I am not sure how she is going to be able to fit the possible 50 people in there because the furniture is in the middle of the floor now and she said that she is not planning on moving anything. So we will see.
I got Aiden's name stencil and it looks GREAT!!! I cant wait to get it on the wall and painted!!!! So i am trying to have a paint party on Saturday night so that I don't have to paint but so I can participate. ...more like direct...or produce...lol. Because Kimmy will have a better idea of where to place the polka dots than me. So hopefully the girls will be game for doing the paint party on Saturday evening.
So I am about to enjoy the rest of my favorite day of the week...my LAZY SUNDAY!!!!! I will check in later this week. Oh and I attached a photo of Paul and I on the beach...me in my maternity bikini...
