The Three Week Stomach Ache

Hi All~

My stomach started hurting Sunday- so bad I had to lay down--- and groan. It never went away, still hanging around Monday..........tuesday........so I called Kaiser. They thought maybe I was backed up. I didn't think this was the problem because I have been regular. So I made an appt to see my doctor today. Everything I described to her adds up to my abdominal wall faschia being stretched super thin, thus not supporting my stomach anymore. Something about a fatty piece of grisel everyone has that supports their stomach but this baby has stretched it so thin, which explains the NEVER ENDING stomach pains. She said there is nothing I can really do about it, that there are certain pregnancy girdles for this, but at this point it wouldn't be worth buying since I am 37 weeks. She said to limit all my activity and carrying heavy things (i.e Lily). It really does flare up more so with carrying anything (even laundry) and even when I eat, since the food takes up more room that my faschia can't stretch over. Dr. wanted to do an internal too just to make sure there wasn't something she was "missing" with my cervix. I forgot just how unpleasant it is to have someone's entire fist up there. Anyway, she said I was beginning to soften (no percentage given, so it wasn't great) and she said my outer cervix is starting to open, but my inner cervix is still closed......so basically nothing and nothing. With Lily I was 1.5 cm at this point. But I know it means nothing, so that is reassuring.

So whine, whine, my stomach hurts all the time. Really. It's hard to describe or get people to really understand. It's miserable. And I could potentially have this for THREE-FOUR MORE WEEKS! Grrrr.

Good stuff happening: Baby is moving around like crazy- I know she is doing well and is healthy, that is what is important. Also Lily knows her sister is in there and will hug my stomach and kiss it. It's really sweet to see and I can't wait for her to have this friend on the outside. On a sappy note, the best gift parents can give their children is a sister..........

With Love,

Misty
