I Told Myself I Wouldn't Do This......

Hi All~

I told myself I wouldn't get antsy, that I would wait until May 26th and then start wishing for the baby to come-- but it's not working! It doesn't help when everyone keeps asking me when I am due, and commenting on how big I am. One lady even asked me WHEN I was due- as if that didn't nearly push me over the edge. I just want to enjoy this time with David and Lily before all of our worlds are changed and we have to find a new "normal." Plus, it's not like I am even ready- Lily's room is a mess of clothes, the closet is still undone, the crib isn't set up, I haven't packed a hosptial bag etc. So I really need to get over it- which is why I am blogging it- thinking it may help to get it out of my system (it slightly worked!).

I think we are about 75% sure we have a name for Baby Girl. It's so weird how it happens. We thought for sure we'd be using a name that was okay, but then this name came out of nowhere, and it's not even a name I've really known before this. We're still throwing it around, but I think it may be the one.

Oh, last thought. I feel like a whale and am tired more than ever now.

With Love,

Misty

36 Week Check up and Other Topics

Hi All~

This morning I had my 36 week check up. Baby's heart rate was 140, my blood pressure checked out good, and she did the Strep B test. Dr. B checked baby and she is in the head down position, ready to come out .  I decided against having my cervix checked, I feel like it's still a little early and premature. Dr. B thinks baby is about 6 lbs right now and will not exceed 7 lbs by birth. She was right on with Lily, so I trust her, even though I feel like this baby is already 8 lbs.  My next appt is the week of May 12th for 38 weeks. Oh, and I gained 1 lb in the last month and seem to be at about a 26 lb weight gain so far. Depends on who you ask. Doc thinks its been 23. We'll go with my numbers though.

In other news David's mom was here this past weekend and she helped me shift through all the baby clothes and organize them. I was able to clean out Lily's dresser and make one drawer just for diapers, one drawer just for Lily's clothes, one drawer just for baby's clothes, and now I have two half drawers left. I also got all of David's clothes out of the girls closet and into ours and vacuumed both closets out. D's mom hang all Lily's dresses in the clost and got the bedding in there too. There is progress, but the room/closet is still not ready.

I was able to order the baby her cloth diapers (Lily's were too old to reuse again) and got her Fuzzi Bunz in super cute pastel colors. They all came in the mail yesterday, and are so small. I also got Lily some new cloth diapers too, as we are done using prefolds for now. If I am going to cloth diaper, they might as well be cute and fun, right?

Things I need to do soon- 1) Pack my hospital bag 2) Pack Lily an all inclusive bag. 3) Make a phone list 4) Print out layout of hospital for David so he gets to the right entrance no matter what time of day 5)Finish closet 6) Get David to set up baby's crib (he doesn't want to till after she is born, but come on!)

With Love,

Misty

Feeling Crabby

Hi All~

I realize the title of this entry really isn't that great, but I am crabby. Don't know if it's the weight I am lugging around, or the general drowning feeling I have with too much to do, and not enough time. Plus, I feel like a go behind maid. I am FOREVER cleaning up, yet nothing is EVER clean. Today it's really bugging me. But the point of this entry is that I had my 32 week appointment this morning with a doctor I've never seen before. He was nice enough, asking if my boobs were leaking yet, or if I was constipated. Geez. Not even my normal doctor asks that. Anyway, I've continued to gain weight (lots of it, yes I feel huge mom) and my blood pressure is still good. The doc said my blood count should be at 40 and it's creeped down to 35- he suggested I take another iron supplement. I heeded his advice, as I was anemic after Lily, so anything I can do to help out in advance, I will do. We listened to the heartbeat- she is beating strong :) He measured me, and I am measuring exactly 32 weeks, so that is encouraging (last time I was measuring big). Then just like that we were out the door (me and Lily). My next appt is 36 weeks on April 29th with my usual doctor. They will do the GBS test and he said something about checking my cervix? I don't think so-- too early. Maybe at 38 weeks- Are they crazy? Also, they will check position of the baby at that appt too, but according to David's mom (former midwife) baby was head down as of last weekend.

Okay, I am out. I don't need to write more in the mood I am in.

With Love,

Misty

"The Sale"

Hi All~

Today was "the sale" in Castle Rock. I made it out alive. I got there 75 minutes before the door opened and the line was already wrapped around the building. Not to mention the cold breeze that kept blowing while I waited to get in. I was able to get Lily a potty seat, shoes, swimsuit, and some toys. and Baby Girl some summer outfits. It was a successful shopping trip for the most part. I always hold out hope they will have cloth diapers (like the first year) but they haven't two sales in a row now. I also wanted to score a good booster seat for Lily, but the choices were slim pickins and I didn't like them.

My hip is hurting even more these days. Tonight outside Lily almost fell off this thingy outside so I lunged to catch her and think I damaged my hip even worse. I am a mess.
