I got my blood test report yesterday from another hospital. Everything was fine except for one test, I'm Rubella positive. I called my doctor right away and checked with her what does it mean. And how did I get that? She said Rubella is also known as German Measles which I had from childhood that still shows in my body system. It is some kind of a kind of viral infection that could harm my pregnancy. I am so bothered. I didn't sleep well last night. I will have my next check-up on Monday and she advised me to have this test repeated on that day. I couldn't help but to think about it over and over again. Due to my curiosity, I made an internet research this morning and this is what it says: Rubella ~ also called German Measles. Rubella virus causes rash, mild fever, and arthritis. If a woman gets rubella while she is pregnant, she could have a miscarriage or her baby could be born with serious birth defects.
I even called my mom backhome to check if I had a history of this infection and she said none. She told me that I had a complete vaccination during those times.
I just hope that it was a mistake. If it wasn't, I wish and pray for your normal health condition during this entire pregnancy and even after birth.
This is what my rubella test shows :
Test Name : V11 Rubella Ab Result : (IgG) 23 IU/ml POSITIVE (IMMUNE)
Now, I'm confused. Beside the POSITIVE result, it says IMMUNE. Immune means I'm protected right?

Week 8
13th June 2005
I just completed 8 weeks of my pregnancy and tomorrow will be my second check-up. This is so exciting, although changes really make me tired. My pants are getting tighter around the waist, I'm slowly busting out on top, guess I need to buy new tops as I used to have extra small sizes that are in fashion and where sometimes could be found in the children's section, I'm running to the bathroom 10x a day to pee (this is not my normal routine) and I can't wait to crawl into bed as soon as I arrive home at night. Guess there's more to come... I feel more complete everytime Dada touches my tummy and talks to you.

Good News @ Week 5
23rd May 2005
I missed my period for 10 days this month. But I was still hesitant to have a check because I didn't want to get disappointed if I get a negative result. An unexpected call from Jham convinced me to have a check, she asked me if I did get my period on time. I had a second thought of answering no, but I decided to tell her because I couldn't keep the excitement I am having that moment, I had a different feeling. She insisted to get a pregnancy kit and do it at home. I said okay, but don't tell anyone yet. The next day, luckily your Dada had his day-off. We went out to buy something else then we passed a pharmacy, so I thought of telling him to buy a kit for me.
We reached home around 9pm and didn't want to do the test right away because as far as I know home pregnancy test is more accurate when you do it with your first morning urine. It was nearly an hour since we got home, I couldn't wait... I opened the kit, went in the bathroom, followed the instruction, sat on the toilet bowl impatiently with my legs up on it. Till I see the first line coming. Oh my God! I am pregnant. I jumped off where I was sitting and started screaming, I am pregnant! I am pregnant! I am pregnant! Your Dada was surprised to hear what I was screaming for and started kissing me all around my face. He immediately scanned the result and saved it in our personal computer. Then he whispered, thanks mahal!
But I'd still wanted to make sure if it's really there. So I immediately scheduled a check-up with my OB. Had an ultrasound. My doctor confirmed "you're 5 weeks pregnant", I started crying as I watch the monitor and saw my little angel inside my womb. That was the best thing that ever happened to me!
Breaking the news was fun and exciting. Dada started calling our family and friends back home.
