 Our Pride & Joy
Our first bundle of joy, Derelle Francella was born on the 23rd of January 2006 at 0124h weighing 2.86 kgs.
It all started on the 22nd of January 2006 at around 1:00 p.m. I decided to do some household chores to keep myself busy. I was ironing the clothes when I felt the need to pass water. To my surprise, I saw blood stains on my underwear. I immediately went out of the bathroom and asked my mom. She said it cold be one of the signs. So I waited and after like 10 minutes, I felt the pain, but not very strong and regular. I could still laugh and joke with them. Luckily, my husband was still at home at that time. Mom asked me to take a bath so when it’s time I’m ready. I had a quick bath and dressed up. We went to the hospital right away. Around 3:00 p.m. I was monitored and after an hour I was told to go to the other maternity hospital as there was no available bed. I still managed to walk out and called my husband and mom who were waiting in the canteen. Sad to say they were not allowed to enter in the maternity admission section. Then we went to Jidhaf Maternity and there I was admitted. They were so helpful and friendly. But the attending nurse advised me that I would take time to deliver, it was a dry labor and I’m still 1 cm. They did all the pre-procedures. My labor was speeded up artificially. Around 7:00 p.m. I started getting very strong and regular pains every 5 minutes. I was still calm though. At 10:00 p.m. they said I was 4 cm. They injected sedative but I guess it did not help me to feel better. I was literally crying out loud and even fought with the nurse who attended me. In spite of the pains I was going through, I enjoyed timing myself. Before 1:00 a.m. the doctor said I’m already 9 cm. She advised me to push hard whenever I get strong pains, so I did. The head was already down and the doctor could see it. One big push her head was out. Another big long push and I’m done! But I didn’t know she was already out. I saw her right hand wiggling under my left thigh and heard her cry. It’s a girl! Finally, after 12 hours of labor, I’m a mom!
Labor and delivery pain didn't matter to me at all. The thing that really made me struggle were my stitches, I had 6 stitches and they had to do it thrice coz I was bleeding. I was crying... But we managed to go home on the third day.
Everything was a great experience.

More Baby Stuff
Last night we went out to buy more of your stuff. Bought more towels, feeding bottles and toiletries. Couldn't believe how the prices have gone up! Whew!
Mamita is coming on the 16th, so we should be okay. Someone will be there with us while Dada is at work.
Tita Wendy gave you a cute Moises baby basket last Friday.
Tomorrow is my last working day so I won't be able to log in regularly. You'd better come out soon as everyone is waiting to see you.

It seems that you are in a hurry huh! I started getting pain from my back down to my hips yesterday. I wasn't able to go to work becoz of that. Good it was my regular check-up in the evening. I had an internal examination and the doctor told me that only an inch gap is left and you are ready to come out, your head is too down. They sent me to the maternity admission and had the electronic fetal monitoring there for an hour to check your heartbeat and my contractions. They advised me to go home and have rest and come back if I get every 5 minutes contraction.
As per the sonogram, you are already weighing 3 kgs. :)
I'm still in pain but it's tolerable. Had to go to work to handover things.
