What does May bring?

I'm glad you asked...

May brings much discomfort in many ways. Not only am I back to my 'hardly any sleep' routine, but now; I'm also getting itchy EVERYWHERE. On top of getting itchy, I'm finding that my hands are swelling quite a bit. I had called the doctor the other day to check on everything because I was concerned that maybe I was having an allergic reaction to something (with the itching - we all know swelling is quite normal). She then stated that itching was normal, but that I would get it twice as bad due to having twins. She wasn't joking. Luckily I'm able to take Benadryl for it. I find that it works great in the evening but when I wake up in the middle of the night and it's worn off, I'm not getting back to sleep very easily or getting back to sleep at all.

Still, babies are healthy and I'm healthy other than driving myself insane with the discomfort. I've also decided to have a c-section because the doctor said it would be safer and cause less stress for the babies. If I were to go natural, it would be possible to deliver one if he wanted to come out the right way but then I still risk having a c-section to get the other out if there were complications. Not my thoughts of fun if you ask me...haha. I'd rather just have one or the other (c-section or natural birth). With that in mind, the boys will likely be here by June 14th or 15th. We're going to be setting a date when I see the doctor again on Monday. I'll be sure to post then so that everyone is aware of the date.

Anyways, I'm going to go douse myself in Calamine lotion now before I end up ripping my skin off...haha.
