Bayleigh Madison Seymour is here!! Howdy ladies!! It has been a busy week. I had a normal drs appt on March 6th. When I got to the drs office, my dr took one look at how swollen i was and sent me to the hospital for observation/triage. I was admitted shortly after arriving in triage. My blood pressure would increase every time I sat up. In triage, it went up to 176/94. Well, I was admitted into the hospital for the blood pressure issues. Bayleigh was doing fine on the monitor. On Friday morning, my first shift nurse came in and took my blood pressure(while I was sitting up) and it was 185/94 so she immediately made me lie down. when she laid me back down, it would go down to 164/80s so of course, she did not take anymore bp's sitting up which made no sense because if she was not taking them, how was my dr to know what was going on. well anyway, saturday morning, march 8 at about 3:30am,the tech came in and to take my blood pressure so i sat p on my own because I was curious to see what it would be. Well needless to say, it went up to 208/104. the tech called in my nurse who once again laid me down and retook it and ON it was 204/94 then 164/84. So then my nurse proceeded to tell me jokingly, not to sit back up on her shift. That nurse did not come back in at all for the rest of er shift. When the Saturday morning shift nurse came on, i asked her if my blood pressure was reported to my dr. She informed that SHE was not even made aware of my bp from the night shift nurse. About 30 minutes later, my dr came in and i gave her a rundown of my blood pressure. She was not made aware of the friday morning elevated bp or the bp from 3:30 saturday morning. My dr immediately made me npo and told my husband that we were having a baby today because the changes in my blood pressure was not healthy for the baby. They immediately moved me to another room. The anesthesiologist came in to do my epidural. It took him 3 tries to get it in and it hurt to no end. But anyway, they placed Cytotec to thin out my cervix thinking that they would need to do pitocin afterwards. They started my induction at 10:30am on March 8th. Bayleigh was born after only one dose of Cytotec and NO pitocin(thank god)..She was born vaginally at 1:14AM on March 9th weighing 4 pounds 9.5 ounces. Her aprgars were 8 and 9. She was completely healthy and did not spend anytime in the nicu. Did not require any O2 or anything. She has been with us every since. Breast feeding has been interesting. My first time pumping, i had about 2 ounces to come out immediately. She is being bottle fed breast milk because she was having a hard time latching d/t her age (34 weeks gestation). She is doing great. Had her first drs appt on Wednesday and her drs says somebody forgot to tell her she was a preemie. She had lost down to 4 pounds 6 ounces on Monday(the day after she was born) which is normal. But is now back up the 4 pounds 8 ounces and her pediatrician is amazed. So we are really blessed!!! My blood pressure is still acting crazy so I am still having some swelling but other than that, all is well...Good Luck to all of u ladies and I hope that all of our babies are as healthy and as happy as the one that I have been blessed with. will post some pics soon.. |
