Saturday - 16 September 2006 Shew I'm totally bushed - We went to the oriental plaza today to look for fabric to make some maternaty outfits for me. I bought two pairs of pants and didn't find any suitable fabric at the plaza so we went somewhere else. I'm so excited I can't wait until everything is finished and I can wear my cool clothes. It's costing me less than a R100 for 3 tops by making it myself!
I'm feeling good - Christian is very active which I love. And I'm sure growing at a pace well that's what it feels like anyways. It's getting really hot now that we're moving into summer and I'm not sleeping too comfortably. My emotions are a roller coaster ride as can be expected from being pregnant and it feels like I'm constantly fighting with Lila. I had a good chat with a friend about it and realised that it really isn't that bad and that I must just relax a little and not be so hard on myself. Which so far has helped
I'm getting a bit anxious about getting everything ready for Christian, I have NOTHING in place yet! His cot needs to be sanded down and stained and I need a chest of drawers for him. Oi vey it feels like time is catching up with me on that - my husband just says don't worry there's plenty of time |

Wednesday - 6 September 2006 Saw my midwife today :) She is very happy with our progress so far. BP normal, urine clear and I've gained weight nicely., nopw weigh 59kg's yay! He is lying breech at the moment with his feet right down on my fanny and his head poking in my ribs. No wonder it feels like he's jumping on my bladder 'coz he is lol! His weight is estimated at about 800-900 grams. Oh and I don't seem to be aneamic anymore, which is a relief. Will go for another blood test just to make sure.
He still is very active, which I love and does not like being poked or prodded. Even if I sit funny he'll start kicking me and calms down once I change to the correct posture. Sue says it's probably why he is lying the way is now there's more space for him that way and doesn't feel cramped.
I'm seeing her again in 3 weeks time and then every two weeks. Time sure is flying! I'm feeling a bit under the weather again, and have been booked off work for the rest of the week. I need the break. Lila and I are still clashing, I'm trying to stay calm I'm sure it's a phase and it will pass. Having a baby is also a huge thing in her life I'm sure. Plus her daddy is away from home at the moment and she misses him terribly poor baby! |

Friday - 1 September 2006 Another week has passed! I'm getting a LOT of Braxton hicks contractions, I didn't have them with Lila and they freak me out a little. My little boy is very active!! He is lying very low down and I can feel no actually SEE his kicks by and just under my bellybutton. I can't believe I'm 2 weeks away from my 3rd trimester!! Time has flown by!
We are going away for the long weekend in September to the Drakensburg - I'm so looking forward to that it will be nice to have a break. And the weekend after that we will hopefully find out for sure if we are moving to Bloemfontein...
Lila is pretty challenging at the moment but still cute as pie :) I think the terrible two's prepare you for what happens when they turn 3 LOL! She will start going to school every day now I want her to be used to it by the time Christian is born so she doesn't feel like there's too many changes all at once.
I'm seeing my midwife again on the 4th - I can't wait to hear that little heartbeat again :) |

Sunday - 27 August I had the most beautiful pics taken by a friend (will post some in my photo album). I'm so blessed to be able to do things like that we couldn't afford such frivolities with Lila :-) I sorted out all Lila's baby clothes and since I won't be needing girl clothes gave it away to friends and to Lila's nanny who's daughter is due a month after me. I kept some of the unisex newborn clothes they were too cute and special to give away.
I took the cot out - I want to sand it down and stain it a mahogany colour. I bought the cutest little cot duvet set today my theme is teddies. I can't wait to put everything up.
He has been a little quiet again - I hate that because then I start to worry. I feel him moving very low down though. I trust that everything is fine though. I have recurrent uti's which is a bit worrying, a friend went into prem labour because of that. I pray I don't have to go down that road. I just want my son to be safe and heatlhy.
My Lila is starting to "get" the whole baby thing now I think. She is too cute pats and kisses my tummy and talks about her brother. She even knows his name. I just hope that they will get along and have a good relationship. She is getting so big now. |
