Feeling Happy
I am feeling happy today, although I am stressed out about our living situation, I have been feeling the baby moving a lot the past couple of days. Yesterday especially, I swear he/she was moving constantly. This morning, I actually felt a couple of kicks, it was funny because I really had to go to the bathroom and I guess the baby felt it was time to get it over with so we could go back to sleep :)

Our living situation is hard because we only have one bedroom right now, and I know that as my pregnancy progresses I am just going to go insane trying to nest for the baby with no bedroom for the little one. Also, since I am on unemployment, the rent for this place is just way too high for us, and there's no washer and dryer!! I am going to lose it having to lug my baby's clothes down the street and waiting in line for a spare washer at our extremely small local laundromat.

So our landlord is on our butts when we're late with the rent, I understand but at the same time I want to tell him I think he is overcharging us for this cruddy place. We applied for city assisted housing and I am praying that we get into a place before the baby is born. I just want a bedroom for my baby, and a washer and dryer to keep his/her clothes clean!!! The best thing will be that they adjust the rent to suit your income, so we will have to pay about $500 less a month. Which will mean that we will actually be able to pay our rent.

Anyway, feeling my baby move is the most wonderful feeling in the whole world and makes me so happy! My ultrasound is on Wednesday woo hoo!

Intuition
So....I really think this baby is a boy. I read that a mother's instinct on the sex of her baby is accurate up to 75% of the time. The stat probably jumps up if she waits until after birth to guess ;) I'm not sure why I think it's a boy, but I do!! I will be so happy to have a son, but if I am having a girl I will be shocked but overjoyed :)

I don't know why I want to have a girl so much, Pete wants a girl too....me and my sis were such bad teenagers, especially me--my number one wish for my possible daughter besides her happiness and good health would be for her not to hit puberty until she's at least fifteen. When a girl hits puberty at ten, like I did, it makes for nothing but trouble!!!
For my son, I would hope he doesn't meet any girls until he's fifteen. This is not to say that at fifteen it's a free for all, but if they are late bloomers than maybe they'll be confused about how to act with the opposite sex until they are 25!!

Why am I thinking about this you ask? Pretty much the usual, just planning ahead on how my kids are going to avoid the pitfalls that tripped me up, something all parents do I'm sure. I am feeling the baby move around much more often now, I can't wait to feel kicks! The baby moves more when I drink the littlest bit of pop, which makes me feel guilty because I imagine a little ping pong ball bouncing around in there! It also reacts to me sneezing violently lol.

Less than a week left to find out if Pete and I will be raising Carly or Peter :)

Santa!!!!
I had such fun the other night at the Santa Claus Parade, me and Pete took our little niece, the same little witch from my last Halloween entry :) I took the most awful pictures ever, for an example, there were these beautiful horses, and especially this nice white one, and the guy riding that one made it stop right in front of me and it was practically giving me a gorgeous pose. Well by the time I got the freakin camera loaded, you guessed it, I ended up with a pic of a horses ass!!

A lot of the floats were really nice, the Native Friendship Centre had one all decorated and it was playing traditional Native music and we really liked that one. The most awesome float I have actually ever seen was one with a dressed up Grinch guy in a cage, and he had a sign that said "help me!" He was throwing himself against the cage, and trying to climb out the top. I was so amused, then I realized I was with a four year old, and she was totally freaked out!! It was soooo cute!!

In fact, at the end of the night while we were taking her home, she came up with her own story concerning the Grinch. "He just wears a costume, and sometimes he takes it off, and puts on his pj's, and they have hearts on them, and he just goes to sleep!!" We agreed with her version wholeheartedly. She remembered every detail of her Grinch movie she has at home, and was talking about it the whole way home. I couldn't believe how much that float affected her!! I know she had a lot of fun though :)

I got one or two nice pics at the end of the parade, with the Santa Claus float, I told Pete he had to pick up our niece and hold her up to the correct height so that I could get her and the float in the pic. I got her looking at Santa's Reindeer, so I was super proud of that considering the poor showing of the previous photos.

Anyways, I will definitely have to work on my picture-taking skills before the arrival of my first born....otherwise the camera will be permanently with Daddy. We don't need any more pics of horses asses around here :)

P.S. Thank you to Pete for taking us to the parade xoxooxxo

Lovely children
Even though that is a somewhat creepy title, I am still going with it. I was so excited to go out for Halloween with my niece and nephew, they are four and nine (I'm pretty sure she's four!). My nephew was dressed as the Scream guy, which actually did scare me. My other nephew is brand new but he also dressed up as Santa Claus I planned to dress up as a witch, and the coolest thing ever was that my niece was also a witch! She was super cute, with a green face, black lips, red crazy hair, a sparkly hat and of course a cape, oh yes and sharp green nails on her gloves. It was a great costume! I had a hat, cape, skull necklace (which I let her wear because she was sad that she didn't have one) and sharp green nails on my gloves.

So anyway, the day arrives and they are calling for rain. So, rain is not that bad right?? All day it's kind of overcast but not too bad, so I arrive at my sisters and as soon as the day turns into night I swear it turned into monsoon season in Timmins. The weather was so bad it was almost funny but it was really sad. So we realized we can't take little Santa out in this type of storm, and the Scream guy is going to want to stay out much longer than the four year old witch, not to mention the big pregnant witch too.

So, Scream guy ended up going out with a friend and the friend's mom, and my sis stayed home with her little Santa, handing out goodies, and the two brave witches headed out to brave the storm. Well, my little sweetie melted my heart. First of all, my hat flew off in a huge gust of wind, and bless her heart, she chased it for me, and she actually caught it!! Her hat was twist-tied on to her toque, but I still had to hold on to it in particularly windy spots. As soon as we stepped out into the storm my cape twisted around to the front so it became like an apron, not very spooky, and it was blinding me periodically so I had to take it off and stuff it into my pocket.

So my little niece was such a trooper, and we trudged along down a couple of streets together, but she didn't cry or complain about the weather at all, although I can't stress this enough, the weather was really really bad. So finally she says in a small voice "can we go home?" My heart melted and I said of course, and we stopped at a few more houses and she was happy to get a couple of cans of pop along with the usual cache of chips and candy. When we returned back to my sisters house, she felt so bad for her little daughter that she offered to take her back out if she wanted, but no, the little witch went and scrubbed all the green off her face so she just wanted to stay home.
My feet were soaked through and through, and it's funny because my little niece warned me I should wear winter boots and I just laughed and thought how cute she is. I should have freakin worn winter boots let me tell you!!!!

So then we all relaxed except for my sister who hardly ever relaxes (she has three kids!!) and my mom and dad came over to give the kids some Halloween goodies. Guess who else got some goodies....me! My mom gave me a couple of pregnancy magazines, and I just love reading about babies :) we had pizza for supper and lots of munchies.

It was a really fun night even with the monsoon. And scream guy got so much candy he could have opened his own convenience store! Little Santa was so cuddly, and I was so proud of my little witch being so well behaved even though her Halloween was pretty much her and I being tossed about in torrential downpour and crazy winds. I am so looking forward to being a mom, but I can pretty much guarantee you right now that any child of mine will complain right proper if there is a monsoon on their Halloween night :)
