Baby has arrived!

Dreaming Away
So my sleep patterns have been all messed up since I am staying home all the time, I am looking forward to starting class in January since it will regulate my sleeping much better! Last night I couldn't sleep, so I was up all night and the little one was kicking me for over four hours! From three am, when I notice he/she is pretty active normally, all the way past seven am. It was wonderful, I just laid on my couch watching Friends and smiling away.

I am starting to dream more about having my baby, I have had two dreams of breastfeeding now, the first was with my daughter, the second was with my son. The second dream went further where I had to get up with the baby, and change his diaper, and I couldn't figure the diaper out for the life of me. It came in four parts, and I just put on the first part and was done with it until my sis started making fun of my inept diaper changing!!

I am enjoying looking at pics of sweet babies (especially my new little nephew awwwww) and toddlers and picturing comforting them when they need mom. I am so curious if I am having a boy or a girl! My goodness, I didn't know this level of curiousity even existed.

I am starting to have heartburn/reflux now, which is not too bad I guess. It's not too severe yet and hopefully it stays that way.  I am going for my glucose test next week sometime. Boo, hiss.

Anyway---it's got to the point now where I look forward to three am, it's my time with my little baby who for some reason wakes up then and just kicks away. Already knowing how to make mommy happy :)

What a stinkfest!
So last night someone hacked into the pregnancy forum I belong to :( I didn't realize how much time I actually spend on the site until suddenly it's gone! I hope it's back up and running very very quickly.

I have been craving cheese products like a maniac. It all started about a week and half ago, when for some reason I started wanting to eat Kraft Dinner (especially white cheese) late at night. Then, one night when I couldn't find a box in the cupboard (it was still on our couch in the grocery bag!) I started going crazy thinking about all the different cheese products I would like to eat. I almost made Pete take me to a store at three am to buy these products! As a compromise I told him he wouldn't have to take me anywhere if he could just find the missing box of KD! So he found it lol.

The next day we went to the store and I bought: cottage cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, nachos and cheese sauce. I have sampled everything already and how wonderfully delicious it has been :)

I wish we had more money for Christmas, but then again I would also like to be able to start buying a few baby things, maybe some sleepers in the near future. I am waiting very impatiently for the ultrasound place to call for my second ultrasound. Call darn you!!!

5.5 Months
The dinner went really well at my in-laws, which Pete and I were both incredibly happy about! We are going over there this Sunday for dinner too. Are they trying to make sure we don't skip town with their first grandchild lol.

The baby moves a lot every day now, which is the most wonderful feeling I've ever experienced. Sometimes it's pretty violent and once I saw my belly move when I was laying down. Already lol. I'll be going for my Glucose test next week, not very excited about that but I am interested in the result.

I am taking five courses starting in January, and three of the five courses could be transferred over to the pre-health program if I decide to go into nursing starting in September. It would be a large time commitment, but I think I would really love building a career as a nurse. I'd be getting a BScN which I've been obsessed about getting a university degree so there you go :)

I am pretty excited about 2008 being a wonderful year! Something I am not excited about is having to go an hour and a half long meeting for people receiving unemployment benefits. Am I on punked here? It's supposed to show you how to get a job, which I find very odd, being that we were all working recently and have gotten laid off! Brilliant government we have. Also, it's a group meeting so that kind of blows confidentiality right out the window. If they ask what sort of barriers we have to finding employment I'm going to say that I'm six months pregnant does that count??

I will update again with how silly and useless the meeting is, plus I'm sure the orator is going to be a complete oaf. A bilingual oaf yes, how impressive. :)

More than halfway along
It's weird to think that I'm more than halfway along in my pregnancy now. My doctors appointment went well thank goodness, my baby's heartbeat was 150 bpm (perfect!). The doctor said my uterus is measuring big, so he wants me to go for my glucose test early (before 25 weeks rather than waiting until the standard 28 weeks). He just wants to make sure my baby doesn't grow too big too fast lol.

I begged him to send me for another ultrasound so I am hoping to get a call from the ultrasound place very soon. Come on we have to know if we're expecting Carly or Peter!! I also can't wait to get another look at the little one, I'm sure he/she will look different from last time and very sweet :)

My doc said that the ultrasound showed the baby was breech, which is not an issue right now but just means that I would for sure get another ultrasound later to make sure the baby turns head down. I was told they don't really take chances with breech births anymore, so if the baby stayed breech then I'd probably get a c-section. (I'd rather not do this if at all possible, I hate surgery! But whatever is safer for the baby or course).
It's funny because it's true that the baby was breech, in fact he/she was sitting straight up with their legs crossed lol.

I went for an appointment with the co-ordinator at the college to talk about taking some social service worker classes this January, and it looks like it's a go. I'm so excited about having something to pass the time for my third trimester until the baby arrives :) I'm hoping my profs are understanding about letting me write my exams early or understanding I will miss a few classes since my baby is due at the beginning of April and I believe classes run until the middle of April. It should hopefully work out well. Then, if I love the classes, I will take the social service worker program in it's entirety starting next September. Very exciting :)

I can't believe how big my baby bump is now. I lay in bed and it just sticks straight up lol. I feel the baby moving every day now, and a few kicks although it stops as soon as Pete puts his hand on my belly. I love love love feeling the little one move around in there :)

Our building where we live is up for sale, so we have had to deal with prospective buyers and appraisers blech. Also, our neighbours upstairs got a bird. That's right, a chirpy bird. They've gone this long without a bird why would they want one now??

Pete and I and Thunder are heading over to his parent's house for dinner tomorrow night. I am looking forward to it as long as they are nice to us, sometimes there are snide comments that are made. Pete's dad said he'd like to make the visits a tradition maybe a couple of times a month. I would like that as long as these visits are pleasant and not miserable. Anyway, I haven't seen them for a long time so it will be nice to get a visit in before Christmas comes. We are going to take over the ultrasound picture and hopefully that will be a good conversation starter lol. Wish us luck for a pleasant visit pretty please!!!
