Baby has arrived!

Updating
Well, I was given a blood glucose monitoring kit by the dietician last week, so I've been monitoring for the past couple of days. My blood sugar gets pretty high, the highest reading so far has been over 13. My target is under 7.8 so I'm not meeting my target! I am looking forward to stocking up on foods that don't cause my blood sugar to rise within the next couple of days. I am hoping that really helps since I don't want to go on insulin (of course I will though, I don't want the baby to grow to 12 pounds or something)!

It is a bit depressing but I'm hoping that once the baby is born my sugars will go back to normal, if not at least I know about the situation now and can do something about it. Me and Pete both have to concentrate on getting our blood sugars under control--it's a very important mission so that we can both be around for our little one as long as possible!

The little one has been kicking a lot today, which I enjoy still :) I rolled over this morning and thought I would sleep a couple of more minutes but the baby kicked me twice hard down low--it felt like it was kicking my full bladder lol--probably taking up it's room in there! So I had to get up and go to the bathroom despite wanting to sleep more :)

Tomorrow I go see my ob-gyn so I am hoping and hoping that he tells us the sex of the baby (I'm sure he'll get lots of pics from my ultrasound). If he doesn't, I am definitely going to the other ultrasound on February 7--I want to know the sex and I am going to be ticked off if the ob-gyn doesn't tell me purely to be ornery.

I am approaching thirty weeks along now, and I am starting to think that there are consequences to getting pregnant--having to watch your blood pressure, your blood sugars and possible c-sections, all that stuff it's hard to believe is all coming to a head now that I'm in the last fourth of my pregnancy.

I'm pretty sure I felt a couple of Braxton-Hicks contractions this morning, so that was interesting. Oh I just want everything to work out and have my little one here in ten weeks for cuddles and smooches :)

What a wonderful day!!
Today I got to see my baby again :) It was so wonderful and amazing, I posted a new pic in my photo album. The tech showed us the baby's hair--she said he/she definitely has hair! She also said: "this is not a small baby". Lol. To me the baby looked perfect......we actually got to see the little face all nestled in there and the baby has chubby, round cheeks! We got to see the lips, nose, eyes, it was so beautiful and looked just like a real baby looks :)

The heart was beating away nicely at 166 bpm, I got to hear the blood flowing through the cord and it was really nice. My bladder was so full I was in agony, when Pete came in to see the baby I told him "I can't wait to go to the bathroom". The tech said my bladder was so full to bursting she couldn't believe I didn't complain sooner lol.

Both of the baby's feet are up in my right side, where I have felt kicking. And I have felt some punching from the little arms on the other side lol. The ob-gyn said he felt the head was down low, but it could have been the bum, and after today I do think it was the bum since the baby's head is by my belly button and it's kind of in a U shape with the bum down low.

I am pretty sure I saw boy parts flapping around, but I really can't be sure since I could hardly see the screen and she didn't tell us the sex. I am hoping she took a good pic of it though and that the ob-gyn tells me this Monday at my appointment!

I also went to see the diabetes counselor, my blood sugar was good today and my weight is the same as at my last dr. appointment, my bp was still high at 160/80 but I have heard that the bottom number is most important. She is giving me a basket of healthy food like milk and eggs and things like that, and she said that since she wants to see me every week for the rest of my pregnancy she will give me a food basket every week too. She was so nice! And she wants me to drink all the milk every week lol.

Today was a wonderful day, I just wish I wouldn't have had to miss class, but it was so worth it to see my little girl or (I think!!!) boy :)

Little Munchkin
It has been fun the past couple of days to feel and see what the little munchkin is up to in my tummy. It was wonderful to sit on the couch with Pete for a while and have him be able to feel the kicks without a problem. When I wake up lately the baby is bunched up way up high and my baby bump makes all kinds of weird shapes lol. I have an ultrasound on Thursday so I can't wait to see what the baby looks like now.

Today was a good day at school, I enjoyed the class and also the time afterwards that I spent with a group for a project. It is so interesting to take courses that are based on human services rather than business--the business classes were full of constant work and these ones have a lot of lecturing and reading. Pete said that I just glow when I come out of school, for some reason I enjoy learning things so so much. When you're past 65 you can get university degrees free of charge from Laurentian, and I can definitely see myself taking advantage of that!!

I am so excited to have my baby, but I am looking forward to getting set up first for the little one. I cannot wait to have a place for them to sleep, for them to have a diaper change, a bath, etc. When they are born it will be spring time and I am so looking forward to getting some fresh air on nice walks with the little one and Thunder (and daddy if he wants to come!). I am just looking forward to having my baby to hold...it's funny though because I'd rather be overdue than super early since the baby is comfy and growing right where it is :)

I hope my doctor's appointments here on out go very well! It's funny that at my next appointment with my regular doctor I'll be thirty weeks along....only ten weeks to go after that I know it's going to fly by!!

Tough couple of days
Yesterday I was so sick I could hardly move a muscle. I was so congested that I had problems with my eyes, ears, throat and of course nose. I was sneezing and having my rhinitis flare up for about twelve hours. Today I am a lot better in that way, but due to the trauma that happened yesterday I have a very painful headache. I'm sure my sinus linings and my eyes and everything is very inflamed.

I had so many appointments and things going on yesterday and today and I canceled and rescheduled them all. I was supposed to meet with the diabetes person yesterday, go to an ultrasound today, meet with the osap officer at school, and of course classes. I had to reschedule my appointment with the OB-gyn next week since I won't have had the ultrasound they want yet. Yesterday was just such an awful awful day, and today I am resting in order to help my swollen face recover. The headache is at the base of my skull and behind my eyes and in my sinuses.

I am hoping that next week I feel much better, and can go to all my appointments and all my classes. I am enjoying the classes but I hate when my rhinitis flares up in class--annoying!!

Well Pete and I looked at a really nice house in South end the other day, we handed in our completed application, and I guess they didn't like it since they reposted the house for rent in the paper today haha. Thanks for nothing lol. It's disappointing but really my head hurts too much to be too upset right now! I hope they rent it to a couple of jerks that end up ruining the property, you know, water and smoke damage, perhaps turning it into a gang hangout, breaking things and having random criminals moving in and out!!!!!!

I feel so bad for getting sick while pregnant but I think it's way more uncomfortable for me than the baby (I hope). I love the little one so much, I can't wait to meet them and find out that they are just fine and healthy!!

That's all for now, looking forward to next week and keeping all my classes and appointments!
