35/36 Week Check up Well my cervix has opened up ("fingertip") and thinned out barely... sorry the doctor doesnt believe in giving measurement or percentages I guess! ahaha Ill be sure and ask next time what is going on! I had gained 7 lbs from last week!!! I dont know what is going on. I mean, I have been really hungry here lately.... I really need to be more careful about what I eat, and start walking more. Ive gained 40lbs during this pregnancy, so far!
Confirmed that I am having small contractions.... really just started noticing them this week. As far as my abdomen feeling as though the muscles are clinching and my stomach becoming really hard. Nothing painful though.
Tonight went and returned my playpen. With all my returns, I was able to get the changing table/dresser combo that I have been wanting. I mean, its not like he is every going to be put down with me living at home, with 4 people fighting over him! Besides, Bliss and Savannah are at home right now visiting... who better than Bliss to organize all of the baby's things for me? It will probably be the neatest its ever going to be when she finishes it! That will be one less thing that stresses me out when I move home.... I cant function in an unorganized area, makes me anxious or something.
Still havent figured out what to pack for my coming home outfit... I mean I could really care less what it looks like. It just needs to be comfortable for the drive, as well as be manageable for me to nurse. I still dont see how I am going to be able to just go straight to my parents after we are released from the hospital. Im sure there will still be numerous things here at the apartment that I need to take care of. Very stressful times ahead. I cant really schedule a cut off day for all my utilities!!!! Im sure Ill be so happy, that perhaps these little things wont bother me.... we'll see!
2006-04-30 (35 weeks)
Results from Last Dr Visit Im sure everyone has been anxiously awaiting to hear the results from my last dr's visit! My urine came back normal from the lab, but my strep test did come back positive. Need to read up about that some more, as the nurse explained it as though you either have it or you dont and its not big deal. Of course my crazy dream world, told a whole other story as to the cause of being positive!
A guestbook entry suggested that I try an ice pack on the area where I want the baby to move from.. Not sure if its moving the baby, or just numbing the area so that I am not in as much pain as I had been. Im still gasping for breaths, and it hurts really bad to cough.... but at least I have found a remedy to help subside the pain! He seems insistent about staying up in my right rib cage. Guess Im just going to have to adapt for this last month.
Created a baby pool Friday, and surprisingly most everyone has me delivering early! Some as early as May 8th!!! No one has predicted over 9 lbs either.... guess we will have to wait and see!
Oh yeah and the really big news... my little boy will have a litlte cousin just a few months after he is born. I can already picture Savannah acting like Bliss, bossing the two younger ones around, like Bliss did me and April! haha

I Cant Breathe!!! So I guess my boy has decided to wedge himself as far up under my right breast as he can. I can only gasp for air, and my entire right rib cage area is in severe pain, to the point of bringing tears to my eyes and moans of pain. Its making me feel like a weenie for complaining... but this has got to be similar to a puntured lung or something!
I have tried every possible position, movement, among other things to try to get him to move out from there. He will move all over, except whatever he is keeping in that one spot!
Are there any suggestions? I really dont want him to come early, but I dont think i can take another 4-5 weeks of him being in my ribcage!

33/34 Week Check up Well there was protein and WBC in my urine, so it has to be sent off to the lab just in case I have a urinary tract infection. I wont be surprised, I have bathed nearly every other day since becoming pregnant, as it is the only thing that takes the pain out of my back! Also, I get so busy at work sometimes, that when the urge to pee hits me, I get sidetracked before I ever can make it to the bathroom, then hours later realize I never made it to the bathroom at all! Then there's the fluid intake, particularly water. I take after my Grandmother, and I just dont drink very much throughout the day.... never have. I really have to remind myself to go get a drink of water. My doctor says we should have those results back on Monday.
Had the strep test performed today... so lots of prodding, swabing, poking, etc. My septated uterus doesnt seem to be causing any problems, so thats good. She checked to see if I was dilated, but she didnt comment and I forgot to ask... so Im assuming that meant NO. My uterus is measuring 35 cm, which is an inch larger than it should be. Oh well, it just goes with all the other number, calculations, weeks, etc that dont match up!
I asked her to estimate his size, and she predicted about 5 1/2 lbs.... stating that he was going to be a good sized boy. Which I have mixed feelings about.... I want a little newborn (in the 7 lb range) so that I can enjoy him being little for awhile, but at the same time, I dont want him to be a tiny boy! destined to be a little man hahaha He is head down now (neck up -- hahaha), but has not dropped.... so I dont guess labor is knocking at my door!
Last night I dreamed that my younger sister and I were sitting on the couch late one night watching TV. It was close to my due date. I told her it felt like I was about to go into labor, and to go wake up the parents, to let them know we needed to head on to the hospital, but first to bring me a puppy pad to put under me! So she brought me the puppy pad, and I put it under me, and while she went to get the parents, my water broke. I had one unpainful contraction, and then my dark headed little GIRL just very smoothly came out in one fluid motion. By the time Amanda came back, I was sitting there holding my little baby and told her we needed to get on to the hospital. So strange. I am consistently dreaming about black headed babies... but wouldnt that be my luck for the radiologist to have told me the wrong gender! I have no idea for a girl name at all, and I have bought like the first year's worth of clothes for a boy!
