Baby has arrived!

Hot Flashes
Well last night I dusted, vaccumed and mopped my entire apartment... you might think I was nesting... but actually not out of the ordinary for this anal clean freak.  But thought maybe the cleaning exertion might bring on labor... but it didnt.

Today I was so tired, I slept most of the day instead of getting out walking like I had intended to.  Ive been really hot here lately, despite the fact that my A/C is set to 70!!!  I was laying on the couch in my t-shirt and panties just sweating away.  My poor electric bill is going to be outrageous I know!  And yes, my feet are still sweating profusely.

Here lately, Ive been having potty cramps.  Often feel like I am about to have diarrhea... usually dont, but have been having it more often than usual.  Of course everytime that happens, I think I am about to go into labor.  My grandmother was telling me with her 3rd child, she woke up late at night with bad potty cramps, ended up going on to the hospital and had the baby within 32 minutes!!!  If only I am so lucky with such short labor.

Im anxious for him to get here, but at the same time am okay with him holding out.  My lazy days of sleeping and watching movies are about to come to an abrupt halt!  Not to mention, I need every last penny I can possibly make at work, prior to going on short term disability!

No Progress

Had my 37/38 week Dr Appt today.  No progress from last week!  Blood pressure still excellent (105/52), lost 1/2 lb, still 30% effaced and 1 cm dilated.  She thought he probably weighed about 7 lbs by now.

Really thought I would have progressed more!  On monday I had very sharp painful pressure on my pelvis the entire day -- could barely walk normal, so was sure I had thinned out more!  No such luck!  Then yesterday, I had bad abdominal period-like cramps for about an hour.  Guess I need to start walking a lot more.

Guess I need to hold until at least the end of next week (memorial day weekend would be great for Amanda), so that I can see all the season finales of my show. Is it going to be Taylor or Katharine????  ahhaha

Amanda took Darla home last weekend.  I only cried for a couple of minutes.  But it sure does feel weird not having her snuggled up to my calves on the couch, or at night.... and I really miss not having her around to lick up the crumbs I spill when I eat!  Probably the reason I hadnt progressed any... I usually took her on walks around the apartment complex!  Sounds like she is having a good time with her brother though, and is definitely keeping the family entertained, even if they are finding a new flaw/deformity on a daily basis!

Amanda ordered a digital camera on line, and received that yesterday, so we are good to go now!  Her camera can even record short video...  So lets hope she figures out how it all works prior to me going into labor!  haha  She also bought me a new comforter (even though its exactly the same one I already had), since everyone thinks I needed a new one that the dog had not laid on and made stinky!  So Ive got everything ready... just a matter of waiting now I suppose!

Drooling and Sweaty Feet
Had my 36/37 week check up on Thursday.  Everything came back normal.  Still only "fingertip" for dilation, but had effaced to about 30%.  She thought he was about 6 1/2 lbs.... so maybe he wont be huge!  Anyway, at least I had made a little progress!  Oh yeah, I hadnt gained anymore weight!

Here lately when I am sleeping, I drool horribly!  I mean today, I woke up in a huge puddle.  It was so bad that it had obviously run across the side of my face, into my hair!   Gross!  Dont understand what is causing that... kind of weird though!  Guess I cant skip washing my hair tonight.

Another new thing, is the soles of my feet are sweating profusely!  I keep thinking my carpet is wet, they are so sweaty!  For the past few weeks, the only shoes I have been wearing are some cheap flipflops I picked up from Walgreens (due to the size of my swollen feet), and they are getting so stinky from my sweaty feet!  Maybe I could spray some anti-perspirant on them or something?  haha

Heard from the sperm donor.  HE said when the time is appropriate, that he would like to have a paternity test performed, and that we will then proceed prudently under the law.  Not sure what that is supposed to mean!  When does he think the time to perform the test is "appropriate"?  Maybe NEVER!?!?!  I hadnt planned on establishing paternity, or asking for child support... was just going to leave him be.  Seems his plan of action will only shoot himself in the foot.  IM just going to ignore him, we'll see what happens.

Well Amanda is coming to get Darla (my dog) this weekend to take back home.  IM already geting sad about it.  My family seems to think I wont even pay any attention to Darla once the baby comes... but she has been living with me, inside a small one bedroom apartment for over a year now.  Ive grown pretty attached to her.  Im feeling really bad about sending her home to my parents when I wont be there, and then she will be living outside on top of that.  Not that I want a dog in the house with a baby, but wonder how she will adapt to being outdoors.  I think it will be better for her overall, her brother lives there so she will have someone to play with and she wont be in a kennel all day like she has been when Im working.  But I am afraid she will escape the backyard, and they wont be able to find her.  She is an escape artist.

Cankles
OK, so I thought my ankles were swollen looking before... now there is a roll at the top of my foot where it meets the ankle.  Very attractive!

I think Ive been especially hungry here lately... not sure if Im actually hungry or just nervous, needless to say Ive been eating a whole bunch.  Was reading another girl's journal, and it said that Catherine Zeta-Jones gained like 60 lbs when she was pregnant!  I would like to say that makes me feel better, as she keeps a very nice figure... BUT then again, I dont have the money to hire a personal trainer!  Looking at me right now, over 200 lbs, one would NEVER guess that I have typically always been a size 6.

Pressure on my pelvis region is really bad.  And today, I guess because its Friday and thats the day he likes to do it, Baby Roo moved up in my ribcage again.  Kept some ice on it, did some stretches and went to the mall to walk around.  Seems to help if I stay in motion, even though it hurts.

Think I may have finally found a comfortable bra.  I normally wear a 34 or 36 C depending on the style, brand, etc.  So I have tried on several 36 D and even E's.  Well the bra is so tight around my back, that the cups smash my breasts, and then they are bulging over the cups, not comfortable and definitely no room to grow when my milk comes in.  So I tried a 38 C & D and even a 40 C & D.  Although these fit more comfortably around, the actual cups are spread so far apart that my breasts are nearly under my armpits, and the wire from the cup pokes my underarm... this isnt comfortable either.  So tonight, I got more of a stretch bra, NO underwires, and an extender for the back.  Its a 36E, very comfortable and expandable for growth.  So I now have a sleeping nursing bra, and then the following range of sizes:  36E, 38D and 40C.  hahaha  I know people have told me to just wait to get a nursing bra... but I think surely one of these will fit!

A little tip for those of you that may be suffering from constipation... I have found either the fiesta taco salad, OR a bean burrito variety with a lot of FIRE sauce from taco bell, always helps move the bowels.
