Charlie's Horses

OK, Ive read that charlie's horses are very common in pregnancy... but three in one night???  My legs were killing me the next day.

Are they caused by stress?  Not enough potassium?  Ive even heard not enough calcium....  Any way to prevent them?  And why do they always have to occur in the middle of the night when you are sleeping really good??

My Mom had her surgery this past Wednesday.  Her surgery went really well, they were able to remove the two spots from her lung easily and they didnt find any other spots.  She only lost 2% of her lung, which is really good since we still have to go through the surgery of the second lung... which they have already let us know will most likely be a bit more difficult to remove the cancer from....  But so far so good.  She was in a lot of pain today.  She rated it a 9!!!  So my younger sister asked her if it was worse than child birth.... and she said, "Well, with child birth you know you have something wonderful waiting for you at the end"  So I guess that means childbirth is really painful!  Anyway, one down, one to go....  We are all hoping we can get through both surgeries and get her recovered before the baby comes.

My sister and niece are down from VA for my Mom's surgery.  My little niece is 22 months, and we have been explaining to her that there is a baby in my stomach.  For christmas, they had sent me some stuff for the baby... a little dumbo sleeper and a little dumbo stuffed animal.  She always wanted to play with it, and my sister would have to tell her they were for the baby.  So today, I was changing and she pointed to my stomach and said "Baby!"  I told her, yes her little cousin was in my tummy, and told her she was going to have a little boy to play with soon!  So then she said "Dumbo!"  I guess my little boy can be Dumbo for now... since thats what she seems to associate with him.  I think its cute anyway!

Redhead???

Well, I keep wondering if Ill have a redheaded little boy, since I have redhair myself.  The sperm donor has black hair, with his American Indian genes.

Ive always wanted a dark haired little boy!  For some reason, I have always felt sorry for redheaded boys/men... there are just a handful that are good looking...   It just seems sad for a little boy to have pale skin and to avoid the sun because of getting sunburned and freckled!  Its okay for a girl to be pale...

I know I must sound really shallow....  its not that I wont love my little boy no matter what!  Does anyone have a redheaded little boy?  Do you have these same thoughts?

The names I am considering all boil down to what color of hair he has!  Hahaha.

Amber the Red-Nosed.....

Ok since about xmas time, I have had a cold/allergies and nothing is helping to get rid of it!  Just when I think its about to get better, it will suddenly get worse.  My whole head is completely stopped up including an ear now.

IM usually such a pill popper.... but I cant really take anything, at least anything that works right now!  Currently, Im taking Claritin Antihistamine, Saline Nasal Spray and Robitussin DM at night (for my dry hacking cough).  The OB/Gyn is not helpful, and just pretty much acts as though I am going to have to just deal with it.  The medications listed above are what she suggested I take.  Should I go behind her back to my family practioner to see if he will prescribe me something???

Im tired of being miserable with no energy and constantly blowing my nose.  I dont feel like Im getting to enjoy my pregnancy right now....  Besides that, my mother's surgery is Wednesday and I want to be well!

Does anything have any suggestions?

High Heels

Ive always been one to wear high heels, in fact, the higher the better.  With that said, I dont really have any dressy flats.

My 4" Fredericks of Hollywood high heels just about did me in on Saturday at my cousin's wedding.  My feet and back were hurting so bad by the end of the day, that I had to walk around in stocking feet the rest of the reception!  My mother was cracking up at me.

For those of you out there that may enjoy wearing high heels as well... Might I suggest that at the 5 month mark, that you give them up...  its just not worth it anymore!
