Did you ever see picts of Milla Jovavich when she was pregnant last year? HUGE. Like circus tent huge. You are already hotter than her and will be a hottie preggo mama! But yes, something about these weeks (16-18) and the belly popping out does make one feel super unattractive. While it’s nice to have “proof” of being pregnant, it doesn’t feel good to hear the doctor say “let’s try to keep that weight gain to 10 pounds before 20 weeks.” AH! I’m not feeling too worried about my hubby. I mean really, who could put up with his mood swings and Halo habit better than me? But I have felt uber-blah lately. Try to spend time with people who love you like friends and family. My “friends” have vanished so I’m making a new effort to spend time with family. I’ll try to steal you some, too.

Gram (still trying out names)

Dear Rach,

I just read at the top of the page that my grandbaby is now growing fur (I mean hair) all over its body. You did visit the zoo a while back...is there something you are not telling me, Rachel??

Actually, they call the downy hair lanugo. Wow, very interesting stuff I am learning.

I will never forget when I first felt you kick when I was pregnant...yes, you showed great dancing ability even then!!

I love you, sweet daughter, take care of Frederica for me. (For those of you reading this...please encourage Rachel to pick another name).

Rachel! I love the baby blog. I’ll keep spying on it so I feel better about my little nugget and ever expanding body.

Everything you wrote about week 14, I can TOTALLY relate to. I bought my first maternity jeans at Gap last weekend. Pulling on pants WITH NO ZIPPER has to be the un-sexiest thing in the world. And yet I got them on and realized they look like normal jeans (as long as the unattractive blue belly band doesn’t show, gag!) and feel fantastic. Why did I suffer through the last few weeks of too tight pants?! I still can’t find cute tops so I’ll stick to the XLs at Target until I must buy maternity tops. I hate that “M” word by the way.

And yes. What is it with people and the drinking jokes? As if we don’t feel different enough they have to remind us of what we can’t do? But my new favorite is how about five people have said “I had a glass of wine with dinner twice a week when I was pregnant,” or “beer is fine. Just stick to beer.” Wha? Huh?

Going in for week 17 check-up on Friday. I’ll tell you how it goes!

I hope you start feeling better soon!

Thank you so much for doing one of these baby journals.  I miss you so much, and it is so wonderful to sort of experience this with you via the internet.  I am so excited for you and Waylon.  I keep thinking back to when I was where you are at, and how I had NO idea how much my life was about to change.  This is going to top everything Rachel.  You will experience love like you have never felt before and you wont even be able to imagine life before this little baby.  Its truly incredible.

You've got be convinced its a girl now.  You and Waylon are going to be the best parents.

i hope you start feeling better soon.  thats not fair!  i am sure you have heard about 3 million nausea tips by now, but if not, I have a few.  Despite pregnancy being truly miserable at times (or most of the time), its going to be so fun when you start to feel the baby moving around inside of you.

love you!

Emily

Dear Boo Boo,

I am so excited...tomorrow I will get to hear the heartbeat of my first grandbaby girl (did I just say that)...or boy!  I am so glad you might (fingers crossed) be getting over the "all day sickness".  It has been hard watching you feel so puny.

Rachel you have reached so many important milestones lately and it is nice to add the 12 week one to it.  I am so proud of you and love you with all my heart.  You will make a great Mommy.  You are indeed experiencing one of the most exciting times of your life.  Take time to enjoy the ride.

Love you,

Not the Mama :)

I am so happy for you and Waylon!  You guys will be amazing parents and the little bundle is going to be one well-loved kid!  And darn good looking too!  I'm sorry you are not feeling well at the moment, but I know you will cherish every moment of this experience and be the cutest lil pregnant bridesmaid a girl could ever have!   Can't wait to see you in 3 days!  I love you Rachie!
Jessica
Okay I am going to cry every time I read this.  The first entry really did it for me and I love that you thought to take pictures of the pee stick.  I love you and am so proud of you and happy for you.  My heart is just bursting!!!
