I went to the hair salon with my mum today. My hair was getting too long and heavy, giving me headaches recently. So I cut off 2 inches and I feel so much lighter now. Then we went shopping for stuff and had handmade wanton mee for dinner. My mum thinks I'm gonna have a baby boy coz she said usually if you're carrying a baby girl, you won't look like your normal self and u'll look less pleasant. But till now, I still look the same so that's why she thinks it's a boy. Coz that was the case for herself and her sisters and her cousins... let's just see..... :)

OSCAR test
Had a morning appointment today, but we waited for almost 2 hrs. The clinic's always so full... today i'm doing the oscar test-ultrasound + blood tests, to test for any chromosomal abnormalities in baby. I'm just scared of the blood test coz the nurse has to take 5 tubes of blood. I didn't even look, I was so nervous even the nurse could tell. hahaha.. The ultrasound scan was done mainly to measure the baby's neck thickness (nuchal translucency) and to ensure the presence of the nasal bone. Baby did very well on this test. Doctor said results were excellent so far. Summore, mummy still young, so lower risk of down's syndrome. After OSCAR test, we have to go see our gynae and while waiting for her, she had to rushed upstairs to deliver a baby! So we quickly went to eat at Delifrance coz i was hungry.. baked potato with egg, mushroom quiche, ham & cheese croissant... that was late brunch... nice... :) Signed up for the delivery package today also. Then we went to watch movie & buy groceries coz someone's cooking tomoro. Yeah! =)

Tired... Today, I feel so tired and out of energy. I thought maybe I needed to sleep or just nap, but when I ly down on my bed, I just can't seem to fall asleep. I don't even feel like sleeping. So weird... And I don't feel like eating anything except orange and OJ and must be sunkist brand. Hahaha... Rajan's in Zurich now so maybe that's why I'm feeling a little down also. My grandma wanted to go buy baby's clothes today, but I told her it's still early la. I think she's just excited to be a great grandmother! Maybe we'll go tomorrow... :)
2008-03-28 (10 weeks)
First checkup at TMC Today we went to Thomson Medical Centre for checkup. My mum said this gynae is good and very assuring, so made an appt there. However, the waiting time is abt 1 hr. Anyway, I ws so looking forward to seeing how much baby has grown and how he/she is doing inside. Did an ultrasound... can see baby's heart beating, the hands and legs and the outline of the face, esp. the tiny nose... So cute! So surprised to see that baby has grown so much and so fast in just 2 weeks!!!! Now it's only about 45mm in length... super tiny still, but we saw baby moving and doctor said it's a very active baby and we're doing very well so far. Have to eat lots of fish (brain food), fruits and vegetables, plus lean red meat (yucks.. i don't like red meat...)... and after next week (12 weeks onwards), can start exercising (swimming & brisk walking advised by dr) and also safe to travel. Better go for holiday before my belly gets really big and heavy! hahaha.. =)
