It is normal for a woman's belly button to pop out as her pregnancy progresses. Don't worry! It'll return to it's natural "in" state after birth

Acceptance
Over the weekend, Rob had some friends in town for a bachelor party.  I spent Saturday at the mall with one of their wives and her 7 month old daughter.  She of course wanted to look at all things girl.  I admit I was getting a little soft and thinking maybe a girl might not be so bad.  Then I saw the Coach store.  I just had to go in and check out the diaper bags.  I had seen a few online that I though were pretty cute, so I thought I'd go see how practical they actually were.  I found one that I fell in love with!  The only problem is, it had quite a bit of pink on it, therefore... will NOT work if the baby is a boy.  So, needless to say, I am now kind of hoping for a girl.  Or at least will no longer be giving it away if it doesn't have a penis.

Progress
Exciting things have been happening since my last post.  The most exciting is that I have felt the baby move a few times.  The most movement was on Sunday morning, I was driving and the whole time I was in the car I could feel these little kicks.  They lasted for probably about 15 minutes.  It felt like the baby was jumping up and down on my uterus.
After feeling all the jumping, I had a dream that night that I went to my ultrasound and didn't wait for Rob to come home from work.  Then during the ultrasound, the baby was jumping up and down like my uterus was a trampoline.  In my dream, I could see his jewels bouncing up and down, I was so excited, IT WAS A BOY! Well needless to say I woke up and realized it was all a dream.  I just cannot wait to find out what it is!
In addition to feeling the movement, I have also gone all week without my nausea medicine!  I am still carrying it around in my purse just in case, but I think the morning sickness is finally behind me!  Now I can take the picture above off my Baby Center Signature...it is posted in the photo album also since you can't read the quote.

My husband knows everything about birth control...that must be why I'm pregnant?
Today we had our appointment.  The walls in the doctors office are really thin, and you can hear everything in the rooms next to you.  The lady next to us was talking with the doctor about some longer term options of birth control.   I heard her at first, but then I got into my magazine and wasn't paying attention.  I guess I try to block it out, as I hope the other women do for me.... Well after a few minutes Rob whispers "even I know more than that chick about all the different kinds of birth control."  I already at this point am laughing out loud. He proceeds to tell me he knows more than her because EVEN HE knows that the "T-Bone looking thing goes in your arm."  After questioning him on this "T-Bone looking thing"  I was able to confirm he was talking about an IUD.  I then showed him the picture on the wall and where the IUD actually goes.  He was laughing too.  But it gets better... then on the way home, he says in the car, "I guess after you showed me the picture, it made more sense that it is shaped like a T-Bone, I wondered why they would stick that thing in your arm." LOL!
P.S. The heartbeat is still strong.  Our next ultrasound is May 7th.  We should be able find out the gender so we are very excited!!!

It's Official...I'm in Maternity Clothes!

I wear scrubs to work everyday, so it's easy to not notice that my body is changing... until now.  I always wear a shirt under my scrubs.  In the winter just a plain white longsleeve t-shirt.   Well Monday I noticed, there was about a 2 inch gap between the bottom of my under shirt, and the top of my pants.  This is actually really uncomfortable, because while I do have a shirt on over it that covers it all, I still feel like my pooch is hanging out.  And in scrubs, I don't look pregnant, just like I had too much for lunch.  So today I stopped at target to get some plain maternity t's to wear to work.  I got them all washed and went to put them away. I decided I'd move some stuff tha doesn't fit me anymore to the back of the closet.  I came across some jeans.  I have been in maternity jeans since the week after the super bowl party.  I wore these jeans and they were a little tight at the party, and then the next week I went and got the worlds greatest maternity jeans, and never went back.  Well today I thought for fun I'd just try them on and see if I could still button them.  It was a pretty sight.  (See photo inset)  I have my next appointment this Thursday.  When I am there I get to schedule my 20 week ultrasound.  I can't wait!!!
