Mother's Day

Mother's Day was great this year!  Emerald sent me a card (via her Gr. Aunt Bonnie) and Daddy & Emerald got me Harley earrings, a "Mom" necklace, and a "Mom" bracelet.  We then went to Clinton to visit Emerald's Grandma's grave and went out to supper with Grandpa.  Grandpa gave me a card too.

It was a nice, relaxing day - it was a perfect 1st Mother's Day!

28 Week Appointment

Today was my 28 week appointment.  I ended up seeing an ARNP because Dr. Pickering was at the hospital delivering twins.  I found out that I do NOT have gestational diabetes or anemia.  Yay!  I do have one more appointment at Linn County because I'm far enough along that I'm supposed to go in every 2 weeks.  So I'll be seeing one of the other ARNPs on May 22nd.  Then on June 6th, I'll see Dr. McCarron.

Emerald's doing great - her heart rate is 144.  Dan finally got to hear her heartbeat for the first time - he thought it was the most awesome thing ever!

After the appointment, we went to Target & Walmart and registered for stuff for Emerald!  It was so much fun!

Crisis Managed!
Dr. Getta was nice enough to refer me to another doctor that he says he would trust his OB patients with.  So my new doctor starting on Monday is Dr. McCarron.  I meet with his nurse Monday morning to an OB history and then I have my June appointment with him on the 6th.  I still am keeping my appointment with Dr. Pickering tomorrow since Dr. McCarron can't work me in this month.  So... not freaked out anymore!  The people I've talked to say that Dr. McCarron is very nice and a very good doctor.  I'm so relieved!!!

Crisis!!!!

I'm freaking out!  Yesterday I received a letter in the mail that my doctor - whom I've been seeing for 7 years and helped Dan & I get pregnant - is leaving the office where he's at, starting up a new practice, and *gasp* won't be offering OB services right away.

AUGH!  I'm going to have to pick 1 of the 2 remaining doctors (they are hiring a 3rd, but she isn't starting until after my due date).  It's not much of a choice.  Dr. Rexroth looks like my cousin, so he's immediately out.  I meet Dr. Pickering for the first time on Thursday this week, so I'll be picking him.

And... as soon as Emerald is born, I'll be leaving the current office to going back to Dr. Getta in his new practice.

There's a phone number for his new practice where people can leave messages and he'll return them, so I'm going to be calling to find out how quickly he'll be offering OB services and how quickly I can switch offices after Emerald is born.  I hope to hear some good news.
