I went to St. Luke's this morning after loosing my mucus plug, and was having some spotting. It all turned out to be normal, but had a few tests done at the hospital. Turns out - I'm 1/2 cm dilated and 60% effaced. They told me that the tightness in my tummy that I was feeling was Braxton Hicks contractions - basically fake contractions. So... basically... I could go into labor tonight or in 2 weeks or more. But, the process has begun!
My appointment this afternoon with Dr. Lyons went well. Emerald's heartbeat was 128 (she was snoozing, so it's completely normal) and my blood pressure was 100/70. My tummy is still measuring perfectly.
Could be any day now! I just hope she waits until after Thursday, when I train my backup on all of my processes.
My next regular doctor's appointment is next week on Wednesday (7/23) at 3 with Dr. Hess.

36 Week Appointment
Today's appointment went well. We saw Dr. McCarron again (Dan met him for the first time). I had a routine test done (staph test - done for every pregnant woman at 36 weeks - if it's positive, then I'll need to have antibiotics during labor & delivery, if it's negative, then I don't - either way - no big deal). I'll get the results at my next appointment, which is July 15th at 3:30.
I'm measuring at 35 cm (this is normal - Dr. McCarron said that Emerald is sitting pretty low). My blood pressure is 134/72. Emerald's heart rate is 130, which is good. Everyone is doing great!

Shopping Trip
Tonight we went on quite a shopping trip! We purchased Emerald's changing table, high chair, crib mattress, some toys, burp clothes, shopping cart cover, changing table pad & cover, tooth care kit, health care kit, brush & comb (as all little girls need!), car shades, hats, mittens, baskets, & robe. The changing table, mattress, and changing table pad/cover is being shipped to us. Daddy is picking up the swing and stroller at the store in Coralville tomorrow. Unfortunately, Emerald's dresser is not in stock so we have to wait til it does. I certainly hope that we can get it soon!
Em's bookcase showed up today. Daddy will be putting it together in the next couple days so she has a place for her books and some of her toys.
Once her room is done, I'll add some pictures.
It's so exciting - 4 weeks left and the countdown begins!!

Sleep!
Well, lately, I've been getting about an hour & a half to 2 hours of sleep at a time before I wake up and have to go to the bathroom! Needless to say, I'm pretty tired during the day. So I've been taking a short nap in the afternoons, just to catch up on sleep. Only for about an hour - but it energizes me enough to get through the rest of the day!
It's probably a blessing in disguise that I have to work from home because I'd probably be exhausted in the office!
Tomorrow, I'll have 4 weeks left until the due date! Only a month left! We're getting so excited!
