Pregnancy Journal

Well, I thought I wasn't going to write in here anymore, but I got the urge to do a little update just in case anyone checks in.  I added a bunch of new pictures to the photo album, so be sure to look at those. 

Jonah is growing like a weed.  I can't believe that he's almost 11 weeks old now.  Time is really flying by.  Jonah went for his 2 month check up (and shots - yuck!) last Thursday.  As of then, he was 25 1/2 inches long and weighed 14 pounds.  He's above the 95th percentile for length and above the 97th for weight.  Everyone says he looks much older than 2 months.

Jonah really is getting to be such a personable little guy.  He laughs and smiles all the time.  He's also constantly ooing and cooing.  I think he's gonna be quite the talker in a few short months.  He rolled over by himself (from back to stomach) for the first time last week.  It was so exciting!  He started grinning and laughing - he was really proud of himself.  It was so sweet.

One thing I was definitely NOT prepared for was the lack of sleep I would get having a newborn.  It's an exhaustion unlike anything you've ever experienced before.  Jonah is gradually getting better with his nighttime routine.  He's usually in bed between 8 and 9 and he's been sleeping in 3 to 4 hour stretches, only waking up to eat.   The last 2 or 3 nights, he reverted back to waking up every hour and a half to two hours.  I don't know what's causing that, but I hope it ends soon.

Besides being tired all the time, it's really fun being a Mommy.  It amazes me how much Jonah changes from one week to the next.  I never knew I could love another person as much as I love this little guy.  He is such an angel and I am truly blessed.

I haven't officially decided yet...but this may be my last entry on this weblog.  Since I'm not pregnant anymore, it doesn't make much sense to keep up a pregnancy weblog.  I AM really hooked on the weblog idea now, though, so I'll either start up a new one elsewhere or add more frequently to the one that Jared and I share.

Little Jonah is now almost 6 weeks old.  I can't believe how much he changes from one day to the next!  The nights haven't really gotten any easier, but I guess we've gotten a little more used to them.  Unfortunately for Jared and I, Jonah is not anywhere near sleeping through the night yet.  He sleeps in about 2-3 hour increments.  At least he usually only wakes up long enough to eat and get a diaper change.  Then he goes back to sleep. 

Jonah's getting much more of a personality now, too.  He's starting to smile and laugh in response to things now (not just gas).  It's so cute!  I've attached a few more pictures, so be sure and check them out.
