Congratulations!!!!  I have been checking each day to see if he had come.  He was exactly the same weight as Jaylin.  I can't wait to see pictures and hear how his birth went.  I am so happy for you and Jared.

You poor thing- every day past your due date feels like a whole 'nother month, huh? I had the pleasure of going 2 weeks past with my first baby- NOT FUN!

I thought I would share a couple tips that my midwife used for me to get labor going......

1)Rest and take it easy- sometimes the body slows down to save on energy and refuses to go into labor on it's own until it knows it has enough energy.

2)If you have a breast pump available- Start by applying warm compresses to both breasts, uncover one breast and begin use of pump. Using an electric breastpump, start by pumping on uncovered side for 15 min then switch sides and place warm compress on pumped side and begin pumping on other side, continue this alternation technique until regular strong and rhythmic contractions begin (usually 20-30 minutes) then stop...if contractions should begin to decline in strength or regularity, resume breast stimulation with breastpump for 5 min/side until the strength and regularity resumes. Contractions should be a minimum of (5) minutes apart lasting 60-90 seconds.

The breast pump REALLY works- just be prepared for the contractions as they are more intense! Oxytocin will begin to course through your body and really get things a-movin'!

Good luck!

mandy,

I've been praying for you because I can relate somewhat to the pain, although my body has never allowed me to make it that far without going into complications.  Every night I pray that the Lord give you the desires of your heart and for a smooth labor.  I have another girfriend who is also pregers and she will be induced on thursday so over all I will be busy going to the Lord in prayer for both of you and your babies.  May the lord continue to bless you and your growing family.

You are in our prayers!  I am glad you posted an update - I have been thinking about you a lot this weekend.  It sounds like little Jonah will be here very soon.  Take care of yourself, and enjoy the next few weeks!
