I'm 33 weeks now and I've been having Braxton-Hicks contractions on and off for almost 2 months. Lately, though I've started to have them A LOT more frequently. I have them every single day, several times a day - especially at night.
I can't say that they've been "regular" and they don't really hurt like true contractions are supposed to, so I don't think that I have anything to worry about. If anyone know otherwise (or just wants to calm my worries), please leave me a comment!
Thanks, Mommies!

So Thirsty
I have been sooooo thirsty lately!!! I've been drinking water like crazy, but no matter what - it doesn't seem like enough. All it does seem to do is make me have to go to the bathroom more often. Is it normal to be THIS thirsty?
Only 2 and half more weeks until our next ultrasound. I'll be almost 36 weeks then. I can't wait to see our baby boy again. Hopefully he'll be head down and getting ready to join us in "the real world." I've been thinking a lot about birth lately. I've tried to read as much as I can so that I'm as educated as possible, but there are still so many unknowns. That's what worries me. A lot of the "signs" that mean you're in labor are so vague and could easily be confused with regular pregnancy discomforts. Then of course anyone who's ever had a baby says, "Trust me. When you're in labor, you'll know!" Yeah, I get that, but HOW???
On top of those worries, I'm seriously considering trying to have the baby naturally. My body has always reacted kind of weird to anesthetics and stuff, so I don't really want to risk "freaking out" in the delivery room (more than is already expected). It's scary to think about what that will feel like, but I'm trying to keep praying about it - so maybe it won't be that bad. As hard as it is to believe (with all the horror stories we hear), there actually are women out there that have relatively easy labors and deliveries. I plan to be one of those women. (I'm trying to speak it into existence!) So, any prayers you want to throw my way - I'd appreciate!
All in all, things are good right now. I don't have anything really exciting to write about, but depending on how you look at it, that COULD be considered a good thing. I've been feeling a little run down and it's much more difficult to get comfy (whether I'm sleeping or just sitting on the couch), but otherwise I'd say I'm doing pretty well. I added a picture that Jared took on Monday - me at 32 and a half weeks.
Until next time...

Boring Childbirth Class
I'm supposed to be working right now, but I'm gonna write a quick little entry, since it's been a few days. Tomorrow I'll be 33 weeks. Yeah!!! I feel like these last 8 weeks are dragging by though.
Thursday is my 2nd (and last) baby shower - at the school I used to teach at. It should be fun, and a lot more relaxed than the one at my job here - mainly because the people who will be at this shower, I've known for longer and am more comfortable around. I'm looking forward to it.
We had our first "Childbirth Preparation" class last Saturday. (We're taking 2 all-day weekend classes, instead of the one over several weeks.) I have to admit that I wasn't terribly impressed. Jared and I have both done a lot of reading throughout the pregnancy and we haven't really learned anything in the class that we didn't already know. There are 2 ladies team-teaching the class and they do a lot of reading from the little booklet we got. It's kind of boring. I'm hoping that next week is better. At least next week we get to do the hospital tour and see the maternity ward, delivery rooms, etc. THAT should be interesting!
Well, this was short and not very exciting, but I have to run for now. I'll write more later! God bless all the mommies and babies!

32 Weeks - 8 to go!
I'm officially 32 weeks now. Let's see...32 weeks equals 8 months, even though I still have 2 months to go. This totally confuses most people!!! Who ever started this rumor that you're only pregnant for 9 months? Moving on...
My latest prenatal visit was this past Monday. I've only gained 2 pounds. Of course my last visit was only 2 weeks ago, but that's still much better than 10 pounds in a month, like last month. It was pretty much a normal visit...all the same old stuff. I did ask the doctor about a zillion questions this time, though. Plus, I asked her to see if she could feel what position the baby was in. All she did was feel for his head (where it "should" be) and then rushedly told me he was head down. I was pretty sure his head was down, but I know that the rest of his body is not in the "birthing" position. He's kind of curled around sideways because I feel him pushing with his back (I think) under my ribs on the right side and I can feel his feet over on my left side. I was hoping the doctor would give me a little more insight, but no!
Speaking of my doctor, I don't totally love her. I mean, she's a decent doctor compared to some of the horror stories I've heard from other preggers women, but I'm still not really impressed. I wish she was more attentive and shared more with me...especially since this is my first baby. I feel like everything I've learned about this pregnancy I've learned on my own through reading, internetting, and talking to others. Is this just how doctors are, or am I right in wishing I was getting a little more out of my visits?
On a lighter note, I went and had a pregnancy massage last night. My step-mom gave me a gift certificate for a 1-hour massage, so I had to take advantage of it. It was a little weird -lying still for an hour, without talking, and letting a stranger touch me. It was relaxing though, especially when she rubbed my hands and feet. THAT felt good! To say the least, it took me no time at all to fall asleep last night.
Changing subjects...I've decided I must have the most hiccup-ing-est baby in the world. I am not over-exaggerating at all! The baby gets hiccups AT LEAST 3 times EVERY day! I have noticed some consistency in when he gets them. Usually it's (1) when I'm hungry, (2) when I've just eaten something sweet, or (3) right after I just guzzled something to drink (even water). It's very unusual.
That's all for now, I guess. Only 25 more days until our next ultrasound! I can't wait to see the baby again. Have a great weekend everyone!
